I have to admit I woke up a little discouraged today.. yesterday Ben and I put in an offer on the most beautiful home and after eagerly waiting by my phone to see if it was accepted we found out that the sellers are not making a decision until SATURDAY! 😩 . At first, I started to get super frustrated bc 5 days feels like an eternity, the House is already at our max budget and there are no other offers yet with it being on the market for 9 days. Then I started to doubt that we weren’t enough.. I felt like the fearful girl waiting on the side lines to only be picked last for the game... To say I went to bed with a heavy heart and a racing mind is a understatement. . This morning, I still held a little anger in my heart and I felt it escalating the more my mind filled with images of the house. _________ Then there in the midst of making my coffee, I felt God whisper something to my heart.. surrender. My word for 2018. A word I haven’t really been good at fulfilling so far. I grabbed my coffee, curled up in a comfy spot and just sat in the silence soaking in the morning sun through the window. ____________ Today, I’m going to try my hardest to surrender. Surrender the earthy desires of my heart, surrender my anxieties, surrender my discouragement, my fears and lack of patience. I’m going to sit in His promises and remember that his timing is perfect.
