The location is the first color palette. Use that color palette and vibe to pick what colors compliment where you are taking photos. As a pro photographer, there is nothing sadder than a well dressed family in the wrong color for a location. If in doubt, plan for neutrals. If in a green park location, stick with neutrals. If at a desert or beach, bring in contrast with dark browns, burgundy or greens.
