This is how I hang our American flag bunting on our front porch! I’m usually not crazy about command hooks but these work really well to hang these flags – the trick is you have to clean the spot with rubbing alcohol first to make it adhere really well and it does work! I usually hang mine before Memorial Day and they last well through the Fourth of July! Perfect for your patriotic, red, white and blue front porch!

Front porch spring refresh! Our porch swing was feeling a bit neglected so I gave it a spring refresh with Veradek!

I always like to start with a clean slate and anchor the space with an outdoor rug. I love layering planters of varying heights or shapes to create interest. Veradek has become my go to for outdoor planters because of their durability, all-weather performance, and variety of color, size and shape options! For my porch I went with clean white planters and added color with UV resistant trees and flowers. Then I added a blanket and pillows and now my swing is ready to enjoy all season long!

Serves two purposes…adding moss makes your plant look more realistic and it allows you to put weight in the bottom of your planter - which helps with wind! I’ve used everything from bricks to rocks to paint cans! It’s not totally wind proof but it definitely helps!

Here are a few easy steps to get your porch ready for the season:

1. Layer a neutral scatter or jute rug and welcome mat. I like using a 4x6 or 3x5 rug and an oversized doormat! This rug is available in several colors and designs and is made for the outdoors! Doormat is from my fave Doormat Decoir🫶🏼

My favorite wallpaper for a girls bedroom! I love this vintage floral blush wallpaper! It has been hanging in my daughter‘s room for over five years and I hope she never tires of it because I sure haven’t yet. The cool thing about it is it’s peel and stick, but it’s resectable. Don’t believe me? This was not her original nursery. I swapped her and my son‘s bedrooms about a year after I originally hung the wallpaper and it completely restocked to the new walls and it’s still going strong!

Got a new doormat for the upcoming spring and summer season and I can’t wait to get my front doors and porch decorated with all things green! Before and after!✨🤩 this is what we use to clean our stainless griddle! We had let it go a little too long this time and I’m embarrassed to show you how dirty it was but it cleaned up so well! This little system is not cheap but it gives you enough to clean it six times which should last you a while and is so worth it!

I get asked a lot what size rugs I use outside my double front doors on my porch and I have used a variety of sizes! This particular one is a 44x68 scatter rug and 36x60 welcome doormat.

I usually use something like a 3 x 5 or 4 x 6 scatter rug (but I’ve even done as large as a 5 x 7!) And then a variety of doormat sizes from standard to 3 x 5. I’ve also done a few long rectangular ones like a 2 x 5. The options are endless!
