The shoe styles to wear with barrel jeans. This is a question I get a lot - particularly as we go into autumn. It can be tricky, but file a few simple rules and there’s lots of styles that will work. The most important rule is not to wear anything too chunky. It will make the look very bottom heavy and the balance will be all wrong. When choosing trainers keep them slim and low. No chunky, running styles - just something minimal and non fussy. The same applies to boots. Keep it close fitting and slim on the ankle to avoid looking clunky and with too much volume at the bottom. A low heel works best and avoid anything with a chunky sole. Loafers are great with barrel styles - against keep it slim - avoid chunky soles and the look will be well balanced. Flats are great with barrel styles - ballerinas, Mary Janes, low slingback heels, deck shoes, derby shoes and mules also work perfectly.
