Our space is small and I can’t deny I would love a bigger living room (and house in general) but I have also loved getting creative and finding ways to add more storage wherever possible and make one room serve multiple purposes. It’s been a busy few weeks around here. I’ve painted, assembled furniture, and spent hours finding the right decor to try to fix up our little rental and make it our own. If only all mornings could be slow ❤️ Since having kids, mornings where I get to drink my coffee while it’s still warm and read/plan out my day in peace are rare. Today I actually got to do that and instead of a healthy breakfast, I’m eating champagne macaroons (I mean... I had to before they went bad 🤪 good excuse, right?) But this is the calm before the storm and we get our house together from being gone for a week. MY POSTPARTUM FITNESS JOURNEY: If we’re being honest, it’s been slow. Reallllly slow. But I believe in sharing the little victories, like when I actually kept my word and went to the gym when I wanted to give a million excuses not to. It’s getting past the anxiety of handing your 5 month old daughter over into childcare at the gym. It’s learning to be okay with not “getting your body back” like media claims we’re supposed to... because I don’t know a single woman whose body hasn’t changed one bit after giving birth. But here I am, one day after I went to the gym for the first time in a long time and I’m alive 😂 Thanks to @fabletics, I felt confident in what I wore, too. I thought about editing my belly because I don’t look “skinny” in this picture but I decided against it for a two big reasons: 1. I don’t want anyone else think they have to look a certain way online. Being honest here, I’m the heaviest I’ve ever been outside of when I was pregnant and that’s REALLY hard to deal with. I’m constantly looking down on my body and wishing I looked like other women I see on social media and I would never want anyone to feel how I do most days! 2. I was 3 months pregnant in this picture, so what would that be teaching my future daughter who may see this picture? I want her to learn to love her body before, during, and after her (possible) future pregnancies and be PROUD of the woman’s body. So here’s to putting myself out there and being vulnerable - if you’re dealing with body insecurities right now too, let’s keep each other on track and be more positive together!
