I wanted to start this weekend shouting out some awesome small businesses that I have been really impressed with. Fair warning… they’re not what everyone’s used to seeing here. They’re a little… *gasp*…. nerdy.

I’ve always liked nerdy stuff. Pokémon, Sailor Moon, Harry Potter, Dragon Ball Z, Super Heroes, High Fantasy, Eragon, GoT, board games, Etc.

Jump to June 2020, when we went into lockdown we started thinking about ways to stay social and keep up with friends and family. Brian started tossing around the idea of playing DND with some friends over discord. I was a little hesitant, thinking “ok, I love nerd stuff… I do, but I don’t know if this is my thing” I’m not sure why I ever even asked myself that question, the answer was always ‘yes’

Anyways…

Fast forward a little. we got started playing with some family and friends and we have had a BALL. We’re sad to miss game night now even with restrictions lifting!

We got to do some incredible hikes on this Arizona trip and one of them was the Cathedral Rock/Templeton Trail.

The route we took wasn’t long, but as you can see it was STRAIGHT UP. It was absolutely breath taking. The hardest hikes tend to be the most rewarding.

I’d recommend a couple things when hiking here:
• about 3xs more water than you initially think you need.
• a good pair of hiking boots
• sunscreen
• plenty of snacks
• a lightweight sun hat.

I’m not going to lie, I did not spend time getting dressed today. I threw on my scrubs and went to work. I wasn’t running late but I didn’t feel great and that stuck around most of the day.
