🍲 Anti-inflammatory creamy cauliflower bone broth soup

Ingredients:

1 leek sliced
1 head of cauliflower chopped
2 white sweet potatoes peeled and cubed
1 container bone broth
(Optional coconut cream)
Salt
2 tbsp EVOO
Immersion/stick blender

Heat EVOO on medium in stock pot

Add leeks and cook til tender (just a few mins will do)

Add everything else to pot and simmer til cauliflower and potatoes soften.

Turn heat off & blend till creamy.

Season with salt to taste.

*Optional addition of AIP compliant coconut cream & blend

And that’s it! Super easy. I didn’t have white sweet potatoes on hand, so I used regular/orange ones.

I find white sweet potatoes at Wegmans, Whole Foods, and local health food grocers.

Ever since I can remember people have commented on how “tiny” I am, but what’s so funny about that is I never FEEL tiny. To the contrary, I actually feel frumpy most of the time 🙃.

So what I’ve learned to do is dress in a way that makes me appear long and lean, even on those fluffy days.

You’d think that you could accomplish this with a skinny jean, but I find the opposite is true, a high waisted wide leg jean paired with a pointed toe shoe is where the magic is. It makes our legs look way longer than they really are.

And I personally love a vest because it cinches you at the waist - even if you tend to be not as naturally smaller in the waist, it WILL still create that look for you.

Do you remember the show where the designers would throw away someone’s entire wardrobe and take them shopping for staple and perfect pieces for them? I would LOVE to do that and help ladies feel amazing in every piece they wear, right how to their PJs.

It’s officially sweater weather! I’m petite but have broad shoulders, so wearing a puff sleeve anything but especially a cable knit sweater can be tricky (some tend to make me look like a linebacker). This one thankfully didn’t, and was really flattering.

You’ll find me in this style outfit often! These pieces are petite-friendly and Sophia jeans are always a great fitting item with just the right amount of stretch.

It’s all about picking the right pieces to accentuate length and balance between the top and bottom.

I have a short torso and longer legs, and at 5’4” with a fuller 🍑 and broader shoulders, not all cuts of clothing or clothing pairings work like they would on some other body shapes.

If I want to wear a wider cropped top such as this, I for sure go longer and leaner with my pant, and a pointed toe shoe. If I want to wear a skirt or a barrel jean, I tend to wear a slimmer top and a cropped cardigan, and then almost any style shoe goes.

This cropped lightweight top is great because I can throw a cami or a tank under it for the cooler weather and get all-season wear out of it. The way I styled it here is great for Fall.

Happy Monday, y’all! Sometimes I don’t have time to do my makeup before Ashton and I leave the house, so I wear big ‘ol’ sunglasses till I drop him at school and then park somewhere to go LIVE on instagram so we can do our makeup together. This is real life stuff.

For a long time I’ve been loyal to certain brands of makeup, but it honestly just wasn’t cutting it for me because, well, because I’m 45 and sometimes we need options for our mid-life skin.

What I can say though is that leaning into skincare more so than makeup has been the game-changer 👌🏻, and when the two are combined it’s MAGICAL.

This month (I’m hoping this coming weekend 🤞🏻 ) OLIVEDA (the skin tint I used today) is releasing an entire makeup line that is skincare-infused and I cannot wait. I’m tired of covering up my skin with heavy makeup and then wishing there was a better option. I don’t WANT to cover what I work so hard for. I just want to color correct the areas that I don’t love so much that remind me that I’m an exhausted mom, running on coffee and a prayer most days 😅.

A use a few key skincare products morning and night, and have found my (for now) go-to makeup products that help me look like me, just better, and that’s what I’m sticking to until it no longer works for me.
