When’s the last time you did something really nice for yourself? Doesn’t have to be anything crazy, but I want to know what the last thing was that you did just for you and just because!

Last week, I took an unintentional break and it was so, so good for my soul! I didn’t even realize how badly I needed it, but I came into this week completely fresh, ready to go, and as a result I absolutely crushed Monday! It’s important to press pause and do something for ourselves every once in a while! It’s too easy to get caught up in everyone else’s to-do list and forget to take a time out for us, but it’s so necessary to keep us functioning at our best and avoiding burnout.

If you haven’t done something for yourself lately, pick a time and leave it below so I can hold you accountable!

Slow down, sister! Do you ever catch yourself feeling bogged down by an endless to-do list, the needs of those around us, and an overall pressure to perform?

My devotional this morning said this perfectly, “We run at a breakneck pace to achieve what God wants us to slow down enough to receive.” He really does have it all worked out, all the gaps filled, the needs met, the questions answered, and the problems solved.

We just need to slow down, be patient, listen, be still, and be present. All the tasks that He has purposed for us are perfectly portioned out for us today, no more no less, we just need to listen. Me, the girl who is always in a rush is learning to slow down.

What is the current state of quarantine where you are? We had advanced to Phase 3 pretty quickly here, but we are now starting to close some things back down because we are seeing record numbers of new cases.

It’s hard to see all that is going on in the news and not feel fear. Fear is not fueled by what is actually there, but by what might be and what we imagine could be. It’s meant to rob us of our joy and take our eyes off the sovereign goodness of God.

But walking in faith instead of fear, doesn’t mean we act like none of this is happening either. Each of us has a responsibility to protect our families, friends, and our communities. So when you go out, wash your hands and please wear your mask, it’s a small inconvenience that could potentially save a life.

This past year has really grown me and challenged me in some pretty exciting ways and now more than ever, I know what I deserve and what I want and I fight like heck every day to make those things my reality. Don’t let yourself become complacent and start settling. You deserve so much more and God has so much more in store for you if only you’d let yourself get a little uncomfortable.

Sometimes I find myself feeling discouraged because the path to where I want to be hasn’t always been straight and instead has lots of twists and turns. It’s easy to question if we are on the right track or if we’ve stumbled onto a path that was never meant for us. And to give in to the panic and wonder how our greatest desires will ever come to be a reality, but God isn’t worried. Usually the very thing that is causing our faith to weaken is the tool that God intended to use to build our faith.

Whatever troubles you are facing today, He is not surprised by them and He stands to face them with you. Whatever feels like it may destroy you, is being used to transform you.

the one thing we always want is more time so why do we spend so much time looking toward to what’s next, waiting on time to pass?

I don’t like to wait. waiting in line, waiting on hold, waiting on that meeting that should have started 15 minutes ago. anyone else feel me?

waiting on the next big thing can feel torturous...instead of embracing these times, I tend to want to rush them. I wait for my circumstances to hurry up and change, but in those waiting times, God is whispering to us, “I’ll be what you need while you wait.” He steps in to be our portion for that day.

He is my portion now as my impatient heart waits for the day when my husband and I can become parents. Let’s seek Him as we sit and wait. Lord, help me embrace the wait and look for You to be my portion during the in-between times of life.

“I say to myself, The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.” Lamentations 3:24

life has looked so different for me lately. it’s amazing how the right tweak can change literally everything. if you are feeling stressed out, aren’t sleeping well, aren’t eating well, feeling melancholy...I encourage you to take a look at the things in your life & figure out the why. some changes will be easier to make than others, but start taking small steps towards the necessary changes to create the difference you need to start being able to live your best life!

I tried to escape the summer for some cooler temps in Boston last week, but the heat followed me. I had a great time with family, being unplugged & present...& we even snuck in a beach day!
