I look a wreck but Day 1 starts now!

Taking advantage of the Fire Horse energy that begins today. Plus, starting the @stanforcreators "Dare to Post " challenge for 30 days.

You know i usually like to bring good news usually but THIS is how health journeys (& life) go. Nothing is linear. Not weight loss success, entrepreneurship, marriage, raising children, friendship, nor content creation. Yes, I am up 9 pounds of inflammation since Feb 1st when I took my last shot.💉

Here's why ~ I decided to act like a normal person (well, at least a gluten free person) who goes all the places and eats all the things. A person who actually here's about a new food and actually tries it or just gets something they think about. I drove to the store and bought the new Gluten Free Cheez Its. While I was there, I remembered someone told me about the Gluten Free Oreos and Gluten Free Chips of Hoy.
So, I got those, too. All knowing that today I would be getting back to non processed foods for the next 40 days as my start. I'm glad I tried them all cause now I feel like i am in the know and I can give my honest opinion and review in service to my gluten free community and food allergy friends.

What I can say I learned is that my metabolic, MCAS, food allergy, lipedema system has not magically corrected itself yet but I am hoping that making this change back to whole foods and also adding concerted movement will free up my system to operate more freely and with more ease.

On This Day in 2022 ~ Maui Sheraton Kaanapali

Fun fact: I was drinking a non alcoholic pina colada to keep the swelling at bay from my Superman style trip and fall towards the end of July and because of an AFIB episode I had a few days before this vacation to Hawaii started.

Little did I know that I was Allergic to COCONUT 🥥 and it was a driver of AFIB for me!🤦🏻‍♀️ It has been a wild 3 years that included my beloved dog, Charlie’s unexpected passing in March 2023, fires that took down Maui just 3 miles from this very location in August 2023 to my diagnosis of 26 food allergies that were fueling my persistent Atrial Fibrulation (AFIB) from June through December of 2023 when I underwent a cardioversion to shock my heart back into rhythm.

Food allergies come in many different forms with so many different manifestations and symptoms. I immediately dropped all 26 foods and any derivatives when I was diagnosed in November 2023 and have not brought any back. Avoidance is the way I feel safest and I am not willing to risk potential outcomes so I don’t play.

I truly thought that the weight that I had gained would magically fall off and recede as soon as the allergens were removed but that wasn’t the case. At almost 6 months in, I had only released 15 lbs and finally sought out medication to reduce my swelling from Lipedema as I was developing secondary lymphedema in my calves and I was not going down that path without a fight.

If you refer to the post previous to this for my Labor Day swim outfit in blue stripes, you’ll note the difference a loss of 75lbs makes.

Sometimes trials and tribulations are what gets us headed on the track that leads us to the next path we are meant to forge. I cannot stress enough, if you are struggling with health issues and excess weight, please be sure to at a minimum have yourself checked for food intolerances and food allergies. I believe it is a missing key that most people and medical professionals overlook.

Red, white and Blue for Fourth of July weekend at the beach❤️🤍💙

Lots of time in the salt water to help this Lipedema body decongest and feel fully supported by the water. Water movement is so therapeutic and such an incredible way to destress.

Typically, I wear a bikini top or tankini top with my long leg (9 inches preferred) yoga /bike shorts for a practical way to move about the day. The shorts help keep everything where I want it to be and keep my legs comfortable with some compression, too.

Thighs that kiss and jiggle are not my jam and I reserve a full bikini for tanning days because I do love a good day of laying out in the sun. I must say though that this and last summer I have tried to avoid that as I am trying to reduce my inflammation and try to avoid things that add inflammation 🤷🏻‍♀️

Day 6 - 30 min daily cardio

Made it just in time with 30 minutes left at the pool at 10:15pm. Chose to do pool work because I tweaked my back in the morning. Was hoping it would resolve but ultimately decided not to push it at the last second.

Worked out and was amazed how different my reflection looked since the last time I was at LA Fitness.
The inflammation reduction is real and some of the Lipedema hallmarks are really reducing👏
