One of the highlights of our adventure in Singapore was walking the colorful streets of Joo Chiat and having lunch with local Zizi, a friend of Rajkumar, @shangrilasg's Chef Concierge who took us on a local adventure through the city. Zizi carries out her father's 70 year long tradition of making the most authentic (and delicious) handmade popiahsin Singapore. The shop is located in the modest little Kway Guan Huat storefront where everything is made fresh. We learned how to stuff the popiahs and were taught how important it is to roll the skin with love and prayers during the process to pass on blessings to the person you make them for.
