When we first started this project, the kitchen wasn’t even on the list.

Like many homeowners, our clients assumed updating it meant replacing everything. So before making any decisions, we walked through the costs of a full renovation versus a cabinet facelift to help them understand what made the most sense for their goals and budget.

They chose the facelift, and it completely transformed the space.

We kept the existing cabinetry, but with fresh paint, new brass hardware, crown molding, updated lighting, new appliances, and a redesigned waterfall island with fluted detailing, the kitchen feels custom without the cost of starting from scratch.

Every project is different, and sometimes the smartest investment isn’t replacing everything. It’s knowing where your budget will have the biggest impact.

When we asked what color she wanted her room to be, the answer was simple: rainbow. 🌈

So we ran with it, just in a way that could grow with her. Color shows up everywhere from the rug and lampshade to the artwork and, of course, in the rainbow pillow.

Playful enough for right now, but not a room she’ll outgrow anytime soon. 💕

After nearly 10 years in their DC row home, our clients knew exactly what they loved about their house, and exactly what wasn’t working anymore.

Rather than starting over, they wanted to make each room feel more intentional, more functional, and better suited to the way they live today.

We kicked things off in the front living room, transforming it into a space designed for quiet mornings, good books, and gathering with friends. A rich teal paint color gave the room its own identity, while a simple update to the existing built-ins, adding cabinet doors to the lower half, created hidden storage and instantly made them feel more custom.

We finished the shelves with a thoughtful mix of books, collected treasures, and family photos, creating a space that feels personal, layered, and lived in.

Some dining rooms are reserved for holidays, but this isn’t one of them.

For this family, the dining room is where just about everything happens; family dinners, homework after school, weekend projects, and catching up at the end of the day.

We wanted the space to reflect that. A larger table better suits the way they gather, updated lighting brings warmth to the room, and a leafy wallpaper adds personality while tying everything back to the rich teal tones in the front living room.

Tucked off to the side, a dedicated whiskey bar gives a nod to one of the homeowners’ favorite ways to unwind, making the space feel even more personal.

Beautiful spaces should be lived in, and this one certainly is.

Every home has that room where everyone naturally ends up.

For this family, it was the family room, but the layout wasn’t doing them any favors. The furniture placement made the room feel smaller than it really was and limited how many people could comfortably gather.

The biggest change we made wasn’t adding new furniture. It was rethinking the entire layout.

There was one catch: an existing HVAC column right in the middle of the TV wall. Instead of trying to hide it, we designed around it with a custom built-in that frames the TV and conceals all of the AV equipment.

Now the room feels more open, seats more people, and functions the way this family always hoped it would.
