Someone once said that you should pack as many outfits as days you’re going to be on a trip x 3, just to be safe. JK, no one said that, but I feel like this is usually how I end up packing for long trips ✈️. Quick weekend trips? Piece of cake; I can map out my outfits for that. But when packing for a two week trip and it’s 50 degrees at night and 80 during the day, not so easy 🤷🏻‍♀️. So here are some of the tips I gave myself and hopefully they will help you when you need them: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🧳 Pack at least one of each of what you know you will want, and then extras of things you will wear more often. For example, one pair of jeans, one light/dark pant, two pairs of shorts, half of your trips duration of long sleeves (if cold vaca), ditto for short sleeves, etc. This way you can mix and match and repeat outfits without anyone knowing. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 👚 Color coordinate. Try to pack similar colors so that the accessories you bring will go with everything. I packed one pair of heels, boots, and sneakers, two belts, purses, and scarves, one denim jacket and two heavier jackets, and I made sure each item goes with basically any of my outfits. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🧺 Do laundry! Look up places on your trip that have a laundry service available and take advantage of it when you can. This way you can pack less and wear more and you don’t have to worry about offending people sitting next to you on your fights. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 👋🏼 Leave stuff behind. Intentionally, unintentionally, whatever you prefer. Erik and I are both planning on leaving some shoes behind as a donation, but I already lost a pair of pants somewhere and he left some dress shirts in the closet of the last hotel we stayed at.
