this condo features incredibly high ceilings with amazing woodwork from the building's former life as a church. in order to highlight the volume of this space and show off its full potential, #dwelloctoberstudio painted everything a dusty shade of blue and added a custom-made metal ladder that allows access to the loft space above the door. with the addition of the ladder, the loft space can be used for storage or display, and adds a fun and interesting design element. #dwelloctober

it's time for a kitchen close up at this #dwelloctoberstudo project! the kitchen footprint was limited, so we kept the same cabinet layout, but updated it with new @ikea boxes combined with beautiful curved cabinet fronts from @fronteriors. to make the kitchen feel more luxurious, we used a boldy veined quartz for both the counters and the backsplash, opting for a full-slab backsplash with a ledge above the sink. #dwelloctober

the living room at the #dwelloctoberstudio project has the most amazing light thanks to the combination of the large sliding doors, transom window, and skylights. it also features unique woodwork where the organ was located during the building’s former life as a church. to showcase the incredible volume of this space, we drenched the walls, woodwork, and ceiling in the same blue gray paint color used throughout the rest of the condo, then added a statement-making fan to serve as the center of a conversation area. #dwelloctober

in contrast to the bright and airy bedroom space, #dwelloctoberstudio went with a moodier feel for the en suite bathroom, using deep plum penny tile for the floor, a Calacatta Viola-inspired tile for the shower walls, and a rich wood vanity. brushed gold plumbing fixtures and accessories add more warmth to the space, while caned doors camouflage a utility closet. #dwelloctober

new #dwelloctoberstudio project alert! we’re excited to share the finished photos of this condo renovation in downtown Salem. the design of this project was inspired by a Parisian apartment, so when the bedroom lacked storage, we added built-in wardrobes using @ikea boxes fitted with DIY cane doors. we painted the cabinets the same soft blue color as the walls, ceiling, and trim to give the room a chic feel while bringing some much needed light into the space. organically-shaped gold knobs add the finishing touch to these functional and beautiful built-ins. #dwelloctober

#AD it's time to reveal the transformation of the #dwelloctoberstudio church to condo revival balcony! we teamed up with @Lowe's to convert this underutilized space into an outdoor oasis just in time for spring. all of the products we used are available @Lowe's and prove that it's possible to create a chic outdoor space when working with a limited budget. when designing this space, we were inspired by a neutral striped outdoor rug and used it as the backdrop for a cozy seating area featuring a black metal bistro set. next, we introduced a lot of greenery into the space using cement-look planters filled with an olive tree, rubber tree, as well as a railing planter with boxwoods and candytuft flowers. rattan lanterns and black-and-white geometric throw pillows finish off the space with a cozy feeling. #LowesPartner #dwelloctober

located off the main hallway, the guest bathroom at the #preppyhollowhouse was an interior bathroom, meaning that it had no windows and therefore, no natural light. as a result, we aimed to create a bold and bright design full of color in order to give the space a playful personality. we opted for green penny tile on the floors and simple white field tile on the walls, but used coral grout to make a statement. brushed gold plumbing fixtures, a console sink, and a wavy wooden wall mirror give the space a colorful, cheerful feel. #dwelloctoberstay #dwelloctober

while we love a classic blue and white color scheme, one of our favorite tricks is to introduce a third color to keep things from feeling too on the nose. inspired by a beautiful hydrangea print wallpaper from @riflepaperco, we created a custom shade of green paint to use for the trim, doors, and even some of the furniture in the primary bedroom at the #preppyhollowhouse. wide plank white oak hardwood floors and woven wood window shades add natural texture to the space. #dwelloctoberstay #dwelloctober

it may be cold and snowy out here in New England, but we are dreaming of warm summer days spent at the #preppyhollowhouse, enjoying a classic Cape Cod summer. when updating the exterior, we removed the small deck on the back of the house and replaced it with a brick patio perfect for outdoor dining and grilling. we also switched out the existing sliding glass door for a regular exterior door, which allowed us to gain a bit more storage space in the kitchen. the private backyard offers plenty of space for outdoor games. #dwelloctoberstay #dwelloctober

when designing the bedrooms at the #preppyhollowhouse, we wanted to give each room its own distinct personality, all while maintaining a cohesive look throughout the house. we chose to use the same green trim paint in each bedroom, but selected different wallpaper for each space. the colorful striped wallpaper used for this room reminded us of sunny days spent playing croquet or tennis. a vintage faux bamboo bedroom set balances out the pastel colors and grounds the space. #dwelloctoberstay #dwelloctober

the kitchen turned out to be the most dramatic transformation at the #preppyhollowhouse. first, we removed the wall between the kitchen and living room to create one large open-concept space, then we vaulted the ceiling in the kitchen area to create symmetry and add volume. the existing kitchen felt dark and dated, so we introduced lots of color, using bright coral cabinets and a green star-patterned cement tile for the backsplash. we also added an island with additional storage and space for dining, as well as some white oak open shelving. #dwelloctoberstay #dwelloctober
