One of my favorite moments from our wedding weekend was exchanging gifts with each other + letters we each read the morning of.

My husband surprised me with the most thoughtful engraved wood box and ring dish which was such a sweet nod to our Into the Woods theme.

I gave him an embroidered handkerchief, an engraved green wooden pocket knife (because he’s never without one!), and a little photo square for the back of his tie so he could carry us with him all day.

These meaningful gifts felt so tender and personal and gave us a moment to slow down…just us, before everything began.

Our engagement & wedding rings.

My engagement ring is the Delilah setting with a custom 1ct elongated no conflict oval diamond with a twisted 6 prong setting and my wedding band is a beautiful curved gold ring called The Chevron. I love wearing the wedding band on its own when I can’t wear my engagement ring. The gold and the curve is simple yet unique and I love that!

My husband’s ring is a custom gold domed satin ring with olivewood from Bethlehem on the inside! We love the sentiment and the significance. I really wanted my husband to have a ring that had a special meaning as well and he loves it. You can contact the store owner to get it specifically customized to your preference.

When he’s at work, he wears a variety of silicone rings from a set I got him that protects him from injury and ruining his gold ring when working. #engagementring #weddingring

All the LOTR touches at our wedding. How we keep bugs away on our patio. We put these incense sticks in our planters around the perimeter of our patio, I made these mason jars bug repellent candles with lemon, rosemary sprigs, + peppermint and lavender essential oils (you can add cloves as well), we sprayed our nontoxic repellent the day before + added a little bit to the fake flowers a few hours before the event as well, and we put two fans out for air flow. We also have a fly trap from the Ranch hanging in the corner farthest away. #bugfreepatio #bugrepellent #nontoxic

Rose ice cubes are such a special a d intentional touch to any event. We loved them for Mother’s Day with Josh’s non-alcoholic sparkling wine over top! It was delicious and everyone loved them. We hosted a cozy Mother’s Day brunch at home and it turned out so special!🤍

From the decor, to the brunch spread, drinks, outdoor setup, lemon cake, and our DIY flower bar, we had so much fun putting everything together. It was definitely a lot of work, but so worth it. And thankfully, I had a lot of help.

My husband made such a yummy brunch. I came up with the vision and he cooked everything perfectly. My brother even picked up our favorite hash browns nearby before coming over to help us set up. We had gluten free pancakes, Jack and Annie’s maple sausages, cheesy eggs, melon, and strawberries.

For drinks, we made lemon and cucumber water in dispensers, filled an ice bucket, and made rose ice cubes to pair with our favorite nonalcoholic sparkling wine. We also had lemonade, orange juice, and a fridge full of Spindrifts.

We gifted nontoxic candles to all the ladies, and my mom surprised me with dog mom gifts that made me so happy 🥹

DIY Flower Bar is ready for our Mother’s Day brunch tomorrow! I loved the idea of a flower bar, but didn’t want to rent one, so we went to Trader Joe’s right when they opened, got a ton of flowers, cut them to a shorter size, put them in vases we had or borrowed, made my sign (little LOTR/Hobbit language in there), and set up the supplies for wrapping them up. Thank you to my brother and hubby for helping me today!!

If you’re looking for a last minute Mother’s Day idea or even something for a bridal shower, birthday, etc…I really love this idea of everyone making their own bouquets to take home. It’s a fun activity and so thoughtful and beautiful. 💕
