At the age of 25, I had it all figured out. I was engaged, bought a house, adopted a dog and lived the life that I had always dreamt of as a child. Fast forward three years later to me standing in the middle of an empty apartment wondering where it all went wrong. ___ It’s easy to commemorate the good days: the first dates, the birthdays, the wedding anniversaries. But it isn’t often that people want to remember the days that are hard. (Or the nights that are even harder.) So it may seem strange that I chose July 10, 2018 for my @thenightskyio Star Map. It was the day I moved into the apartment, the day I cried as soon as the movers left, the day I rearranged furniture twenty times to keep my mind off the fact that I was utterly alone. But it was also the day that I decided to want more for myself; to stop settling and to start looking towards the future. The stars may not have aligned for me on July 10th but someday they will.
