I was never someone who 'believed in myself' and have been guilty of putting myself down because I always thought that I was second best or never thought that I was good enough. I found it hard to accept praise and at the back of my mind was the thought that 'I could always do better'. Changing my mindset to become more positive and deal with my mental health struggles has been a tough journey to undertake but with each day that goes past, I learn that I am far better than I give myself credit for. There are moments where I still doubt myself or where there are days that I struggle to break through the stormy clouds but for every tear that falls there is a rainbow unicorn waiting to take me to happinessville, as I cascade down the rainbow slide. So here is what I want you to do, when you are feeling low, think of all the positive things that have happened to you and no matter how small the accomplishments may be, relish the accolades and hold them close to your chest.
