A quarter of a decade had come and gone, a 25th birthday, surrounded by loved ones, who cherished her dear. Cocktails on the rocks, sipped out of thirsty mouths, laughter in warm open hearts, tears of joy streaming down friends faces. Pink balloons and gift wrapped presents for a country girl lost in the big city of London, where the sheep turn into speeding trains and the cows give way to large glass towers, a world made of glass and ice. But beyond the 'urban' landscape lay Tupi, where birthdays were made to be celebrated, birthday cake and candles placed before her very own eyes, she blew the candles out. She was never one for celebrating birthdays, but something about this year was different, friends were determined to celebrate her big day. 'No Fuss' she cried, but of course they had other plans, supplying her with copious amounts of food and drink, until she rolled on home. And Tupi's partnership with @adwaiz was no different; the perfect hotspot for after work drinks, or a birthday celebration with over zealous friends. A raucous symphony of euphemisms ensued and an emoji battle commenced, one for the ages, not a dry eye in sight. But it was the tittle tattle of the cocktails that danced among the food that piqued our interest the most; blueberry mojitos sliding down waterpark slides while the mango Daiquiri hula hooped across sandy shores. A delightful hodge podge of world foods in a array of puzzle pieces to explore came next, Asparagus and pea risotto, creamy and smooth, leaping into a patchwork of copious cheese. And the cheese 'fest' continued to commence, halluomi skewers enshrouded in tart guava jam. The night wasn't over just yet as we waltzed outside into endless possibilities, where the drinks would dance in perfect harmony and the world around them would lay sleeping, in a cocktail infused slumber.

In the heart of Mornington Crescent lies a foodie's paradise called @inamorestaurant , complete with a rooftop terrace that is full of character. It's the perfect backdrop for an instagrammable dinner, where red dragon rolls and bang bang cauliflower line our stomachs delightfully and the gin is poured liberally into eager mouths. Mixed with @fevertreemixers, you can feel all your worries dissipating into nothingness, allowing yourself to live in the moment instead of divulging in adult responsibility. Bloggers mingle with smiles on their faces as they sit and chat, while a Gin masterclass is on the cards, as the evening fades into night.Nightfall has come, and our bellies are rumbling as we make our way into the restaurant, bemused by the interactive games that you can play while you wait for your food.We become spectators watching the people opposite us play like kids once more, reveling in the art of living in a world where we peer through rose tinted glasses. It's a comforting thought that is solidified by the arrival of our Pan-Asian food. There are steaming plates of crispy tofu with mixed bell peppers, glazed in Korean BBQ sauce,juxtaposed with crimson red peppers rolled around crunchy cucumber and smooth avocado. But the greatest gift was @quandoo_uk and @adwaiz bringing people together, reminding us that even something as simple as dinner and drinks can turn that frown upside down.

And that was the most beautiful realization of them all...

Not a day goes by where I am not immersed in a world outside of my reality, where the colours and textures swirl around in a mischievous bubble and the universe seems to be glossed over with a rose tinted brush. As someone who hasn’t even scratched the surface when it comes to travelling you can only imagine how I long to leave behind a world of adult responsibilities, diving into unknown waters, where culture and history collide in one magical experience. I would dance among the pyramids in The Valley Of The Queens and peer into the wizened mummified face of Ramesses II in the Cairo Museum. I would wear blue and white to match the walls of the Santorini villages and go swimming in the crystal clear waters of ST IVES. Sometimes I would explore places closer to home, stepping back in time, ticking off my list of things to do in Frankfurt, where I would become a Medieval Lady in Römerberg’s Square and eat Grüne Soße, washed down with a glass of tart Apfelwein. Or maybe I would swim with ducks and swans while I fed them bread in an unknown destination, where the world came to a still- slow living they called it. And while I travel in dreams far and beyond my imagination, slowly but surely I am determined to adventure outside of my comfort zone, not scared to try something new and savor living life in the moment. Because isn’t life too short to not live out your dreams?

She stood in front of the mirror, lips pursed, eyes wide open, hesitancy flitting through her onyx eyes, dreaming of a day where green eyes would peer back at her. She would be a cat, narrowed slits, green eyes, irises dilated in sensual desire, purring in satisfaction. Framed by heavy thick mascara, slightly cloying, she would pace up and down her bedroom floor, a no longer nervous glance into the mirror perched on her wardrobe door, she smiled slightly. In a world conditioned by negativity, there is something so positively uplifting about drinking in the sunshine, as the bees buzz dreamily nearby, lulled by the soothing presence of the golden sun. In an ideal world we would all be empowering others to seek menstrual education and recognize that no matter who you are or where you come from, having access to menstrual products should never ever be prohibited. And don't even get me started on Tampon tax, since when are 'sanitary products' categorized as a 'luxury item'? But that's beside the point, as someone who is 'period positive', being able to use my platform to join @totm's #periodpowerful movement, alongside other pioneers who are seeking to normalize 'period talk' is a beautiful initiative to be able to back. You see, as someone who has painful and lengthy periods with heavy flow, there was a time where I was 'disgusted' by own body, until I realized that there is nothing shameful about the female body. Our periods are our special time, they help us grow and develop, they teach us the finesse of being patient and they allow us to forge a genuine human connection with others who have periods too. Most of all, since going cruelty free last year, I have learned how to choose period care that is not only vegan and cruelty free but is also free from nasties like chemicals which is harmful, unnecessary and most of all should not be used in intimate health care products. While summer might be on the horizon and rearing its pleasantly palatable head, we are nevertheless still in the moderate reign of spring, whose balmy yet cooling temperatures are juxtaposed with the flourishing of the pink blossom trees that spout out at every corner. The ice cream van can be heard chugging along musically, feeding its people with frozen bites of deliciousness, while the dogs bark playfully in nearby parks, as the sun coaxes them into a happy delirium. But it is the mermaids, blue and green who dance in harmony, weaving in and out of the seaweed that floats before them. Their youth and innocence shines and I can't help but wonder what life would be like through rose tinted lenses... There would be no heartache, no famine, no greed. The world would stand united against evil, until one day the good simply blew negativity out of the water.

The faint buzz of the songbirds outside as they frolic around the trees, becomes the soundtrack to your winning streak, and as you wonder what you will spend your winnings on, like a lightbulb moment it comes to you. You watch the songbird caress each others feathers gently, as they circle each other in a passionate embrace. For today marks the first time in five years that you were able to travel abroad, a holiday to Tuscany no less, where dreams are made to fly. You might have noticed that I have been gone a while and I apologize for my absence,just know that I had my reasons and that sometimes a break is needed to cleanse the soul and purify the mind. Sometimes when you want to follow your dreams, you are met with disappointment and discouragement from those you thought had your back. But rather than give up on your dreams you should follow your heart and prove all those haters wrong. Because the greatest thing about having the confidence and courage to step outside of your comfort zone is showing all those naysayers what you are made of. Don't listen to the poisonous words that drip into your ears, battle negativity with a warm smile and above all remember that two wrongs don't make a right. I am thankful that no matter how many mistakes I have made, I have never given up on my dreams and neither should you. Whether you want to be a writer, a lawyer or attend London Fashion Week, no dream is impossible to achieve. Believe in the impossible, believe in yourself.

I used to be the girl who would ignore her feelings, who would shrug her shoulders when someone asked me ‘why I was crying’ or lock myself away for days in my room, without talking to a single soul, because I didn’t know how to process my emotions and the anger I would feel at being ‘sad’ scared even me. I remembered the jeering faces looming over me,with malice in their eyes, the bullies, the abusers,the demons that lurked in the shadows. The tears would fall, the rage would engulf me in its scorching flames and the sadness would make me wallow in the deep blue ocean, submerged underwater. But now I am the girl who looks for the light in the darkness, who turns negatives into positives and most of all has learned to appreciate all the things that I had previously taken for granted. I express gratitude to all my amazing friends, my family, to the shelter that I call my home , to the food that is on my table. Because no matter what we are going through, there is always something to be grateful for... and that is the most beautiful feeling of them all.

I was never someone who 'believed in myself' and have been guilty of putting myself down because I always thought that I was second best or never thought that I was good enough. I found it hard to accept praise and at the back of my mind was the thought that 'I could always do better'. Changing my mindset to become more positive and deal with my mental health struggles has been a tough journey to undertake but with each day that goes past, I learn that I am far better than I give myself credit for. There are moments where I still doubt myself or where there are days that I struggle to break through the stormy clouds but for every tear that falls there is a rainbow unicorn waiting to take me to happinessville, as I cascade down the rainbow slide. So here is what I want you to do, when you are feeling low, think of all the positive things that have happened to you and no matter how small the accomplishments may be, relish the accolades and hold them close to your chest. Not only have I won 2 awards for my blog and been nominated for 7 more, but I was also named as a Top 30 UK Blog, Run A Social Media Group For Bloggers which has over 20,000 members and most recently co-founded @londonbloggingevents with @giuliafsmith. A year ago today I was trapped in a job that was making me miserable and forcing myself to get out of bed in the early hours of the morning, for a life that didn’t even make me happy. I would trudge through the motions, robotic and stiff, unmotivated by the thought of yet another day feeling like I was wasting precious time. I thought this was what I wanted, more financial freedom, a chance to make new connections but it turns out that I was wrong. Familiar faces would dissipate into nothingness and all I saw was clouded darkness, simmering with the calamity of the unknown. I didn’t know it then, but a few months later I would jack it all in and step into the light, into a brighter future where I had the freedom to make my own choices. It is today that we show animals the same respect and consideration that we show our human friends and shower them with love, instead of treating them like the dirt under our shoes.It’s never too late to stand up for animal rights and make a difference. I wasn’t always a vegetarian, I wasn’t always cruelty free and would wear make up that had been tested on animals, went to zoos and wore animal materials until I educated myself on what these poor defenseless animals go through on a daily basis for the sake of our own entertainment value and vanity. You don’t have to be vegan or vegetarian, but please I beg you, think about what you are wearing and what you are using to clean your home, do your make up and treat your skin. Because even the smallest change like boycotting brands that test on animals can make a difference. Do the right thing. Be cruelty free.

As it was the youth’s who were for the first time ‘defining the scope of fashion history’ the short mini skirt lengths reflected their need to rebel against the norm and demonstrated their distaste for conformity. As the sixties spawned multiple generational sub cultures like mods vs rockers, clothing became brighter, bolder and had more of a message than ever before. And its easy to see how the sixties remain a popular fashion era today.

As many of you may know, I am a vegetarian and a passionate advocate for animals, after taking the leap to go 100 % ‘cruelty free’, by binning brands like Revlon and Maybelline that test on animals, as well as me no longer buying any leather or suede products too. Not only is my make-up , clothing and diet cruelty free, but I also use home products that do not test on animals either, as I believe it is important to support ethical ‘cruelty free’ products that aim to understand and implement animal rights. After all, animals do not have the power to protect themselves so in my eyes it is cruel for companies to use animals for fashion or skincare, for the sake of our own vanity. But there is more to being ‘cruelty free’, than just using products that ‘do not test on animals’. It is time that we protected natures beautiful animals and treated them with the compassion that they deserve. Let us stand up for animal rights.
