As I see myself more on video these days (host a podcast for work), I d realized that the makeup that used to work for me just doesn’t anymore. That’s partially also to do with aging and associated skin changes.

Here’s what I’ve been trying and finding that they’re helping — whilst learning from TikTok and Instagram reels of makeup artists.

Including a burgundy eyeliner, which I never would have thought. Love it! So much to learn but it’s fun!

Finished reading this book over the weekend. What a mind-mess of a book. I loved it because it’s so bizarre and is essentially like a puzzle to figure out (there are subreddits a plenty about this book), so if you’re looking for a light, easy read, this is NOT it. But if you want one that you have to pay attn to, this is it.

Super cute summer dress — comes in a number of patterns and colors and true to size.

Sandals run big. Size down at least one. Super comfy and supportive.

With age comes ouchies.

A few weeks ago, I pulled a quad muscle with the combo of bowling and pickleball. Both fun, but the pulled quad was sore.

I made the mistake of trying to work the pulled quad to help it by doing lots of stretches, squats, and workouts.

Note: Don’t do that. 🤣

Finally went and saw a doc about two weeks ago and learned that was definitely not the way to go — rest was the better idea, along with ice, etc.

I can walk on it just fine and the doc did the strain test and all okay there. Just a pulled muscle that needs time and for me to not try to work it out. 🤣

Today — now that it’s been two weeks, and it’s still sore but much less so, I started using this heating pad for 15 minutes to give it some warmth and help the muscle heal further.

The heat felt great and the quad just needs more time to feel better.
