Dinner simmering in the crockpot on a Sunday evening — is there anything better? Several people asked for more specific tips on filling out a meal planning worksheet. Here's what's been working for us: 1. Start by penciling in favorite go-to meals for a couple of the dinners. 2. Keep your grocery list nearby and add any necessary ingredients to the list as you fill in the days. 3. Print (or screenshot) recipes you plan to make to streamline day-of cooking — that way you're not scrambling to remember where you saw that one recipe. 4. Plan meals with similar ingredients to minimize waste. For example if I'm buying a carton of spring salad mix then I'll make sure to have enough meals for the week that use it as an ingredient. 5. Keep lunches simple with leftovers, soups, wraps, or sandwiches. 6. Avoid serving the same meal consecutively. Save leftovers for the next day rather than dinnertime. 7. Have backup options for busy days. Publix has great organic skillet meals that we like to keep stocked in our freezer for extra-busy evenings. 8. Utilize slow cookers, instant pots, one-pan meals or sheet pan meals. 9. Prep the night before by chopping veggies or setting out the meat to thaw etc. 10. Batch cook on Saturday morning for a convenient Sunday breakfast. Any tips you'd like to add to the list? What helps your cooking process go more smoothly each day? My next goal is to take one day a week to meal-prep! Now that'll be an accomplishment! LTKfamily LTKsalealert LTKhome
