HOW TO CARE FOR BLEACHED TYPE 1A HAIR: NON WASH DAY EDITION Caring for bleached hair comes with great responsibility and it’s definitely more than just choosing the right products and caring for your hair on wash day. It’s every day in between! I start with crown affair, dry shampoo: this is the absolute best I’ve found for day one and two after wash day for type 1A hair specifically. It’s a super fine powder that brushes clean, leaving your hair, fresh and weightless. My next like to freestyle my hair so I use a heat protectant from Oribe. Most of my favorite heat protectant are drugstore ones but this brand is the only one that won’t weigh type 1A hair down. It’s truly worth the investment. I recommend a lot of Oribe products, but this is the absolute best investment of all of them if you’re going to pick one. I always style with my Dyson Airwrap: it’s less damaging on my hair than traditional, hot tools. Lastly, it’s super important to be using bond building products on your days between washes. I’ve been hooked on IGK’s Antisocial dry mask since they released it roughly 7 years ago and have never looked back. It’s also completely weightless on your hair and makes such a difference on your ends when you bleach them. I get way less split ends between her appointments and haircuts.
