Would you cross this?đCarrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge has been here in one form or another for over 250 years. Fishermen originally built it in the 1700s to reach the tiny island and check their salmon nets â back when the âbridgeâ was basically a few ropes and nerves of steel. Todayâs version is much sturdier, but the thrill is still very real.It sits along Northern Irelandâs Causeway Coast, about a 15â20 minute coastal walk from the car park. The trail is easy with nonstop ocean views, and youâll need a timed ticket to access the bridge. Staff send visitors across in small groups, and once youâre on the island you can wander the cliffs and soak up the scenery before crossing back.If youâre doing a Causeway Coast road trip, this is one of those quick stops that ends up feeling like a highlight.ireland carrickarederopebridge northernireland #irelandroadtrip travelireland LTKTravel LTKActive LTKSaleAlert
