Who knows where this is? Hint: it’s still Earth…just the part that looks like it was designed by aliens.The Giant’s Causeway in Northern Ireland is made up of roughly 40,000 interlocking basalt columns formed by volcanic activity about 60 million years ago. Most of the stones have that distinctive hexagon shape, and the whole formation stretches along the coast at the base of the cliffs. It’s one of Northern Ireland’s most famous UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and you can climb the stones (just be careful and wear grippy shoes!), walk the coastal trails above, and explore the viewpoints around the site.It was one of my favorite stops of my entire road trip around Ireland.
