OFFICE MAKEOVER PART TWO 🗝️ Refresher: I’m moving my office to a guest room so I can have more space and make way for a new laundry room. I had a really specific vision for this space and the closet obviously had to be both super functional (nature of my job) and super pretty (nature of my needs). And I require A LOT of storage. There was janky shelving behind the walls flanking the closet doors—not the best use of space. So naturally, John was like: I can build you some display shelves next to the doors and make the back part custom storage. An offer I could not refuse. So here’s what we (John) did: • took out the old shelving and removed the drywall next to the doors • patched up and refinished the interior, installing new drywall to create 2 separate spaces—a front and back—in the cavities next to the doors • wallpapered the entire interior (I really toyed with the idea of extending it to the back of the display shelves too, but ultimately decided not to, phewf) — it’s a gorge @houseofhackney paper from @anthropologie • made custom shelves for both the front and the back I’m obsessed with how it turned out. It’s really chic with the lime wash, the wallpaper is just beautiful and makes opening the closet so fun, and the shelves are a dream. Keep an eye out for part 3 🤠— In part one i covered the first order of business: beadboardjng the ceiling — scroll not too far down on my feed to catch that if you missed it. LTKHome
