#ad Problem: doors too tall for pergola kits.
Solution: buy one anyways and make the posts TALLER!!
Here’s how I did it, in order 😘

Buy your pergola & planters from @wayfair I’ve linked the one I got as well as a few other sizes that would work great for this project.

Follow all of the pergola kit directions, but once the outside square is assembled level the posts and see how tall of a height difference you need to make up. Ours was 7.5 = 1 cinderblock and 3/4” shims.

Position the planter so you can anchor it down to your deck supports (we used 3” lag bolts + a dab of silicone to waterproof the hole).

Drill the posts INTO the cinderblock.

Double check level and plumb THEN add dry concrete mix into the planter and spray it with water (dry pour method). *double check your load capacity. We only filled 1/3 of the planter with concrete so it wasn’t TOO heavy for the deck.

Then topped it with gravel and soil.

Continue with the rest of the instructions, and that’s it!!

Every Sunday we make crepes!
They are so simple and easy. Before we start we season our heated cooker with a swipe of butter then take a paper towel and wipe off all the butter (this is key).
Here’s the recipe we quadruple:
1 cup flour
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup water
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp salt
1 egg.
We top ours most days with melted butter and white sugar and roll them up.

cleans literally anything and everything! Hands down the best upholstery cleaner/carpet cleaner.

Creating a floor template will save you so much time and headache.  I’m using drywall shims & tape but you could also use strips of cardboard or plastic with hot glue. Outline around the edges as well as the toilet drain.   Plan your layout so the toilet drain can be cut out of two tiles along a grout line vs smack dab in the middle of a tile for easy cutting on a saw  Use self leveling spacers to help eliminate any lips that can stub a toe.

Check your tile size & notched trowel to make sure you are using the correct one (it says on the box!). Bigger tiles need a larger towel.

Red thing is G-flex uncoupling membrane which helps protect against cracks, movement with settling, and waterproofing.

SAVE this for your future tile projects!

Comes in both matte and polished and a few different size options! I got 24” polished!
