HOME: Accent Wall Using Wall Decals

Fun and inexpensive addition to one of the walls in our rental condo in Mexico! Using these individual stickers, I created this fun accent wall to give the room a little more personality 😉.

In total I used 120 sticks and it took a few hours. And you 💯 can remove and reapply the decals - I did that multiple times 😆! It definitely takes the pressure off the project when mistakes are a-ok 🤓!!

Info on this planter - it’s self watering without drainage. I have 4 of these in my backyard with the same snake plants and the plants are thriving PLUS there’s no leaky mess on my patio 😉

It’s a cozy kinda Monday here in San Diego. Rain is falling on and off, the candles are all lit (we’ll talk about that in a minute) and it’s definitely a soup kinda dinner day 😉

I can’t remember the last time I shared a view of the foyer from the top of the stairs...this it was one of the things that drew me to this house! Love a dramatic entry 👏🏻

Ok...back to the candles. Suki decided to leave us a little minefield of “presents” 💩 in the foyer this morning 😖 and it did NOT smell like roses! So...I brought a few candles into the foyer to help with the stink factor. Not sure why is never occurred to me to light candles in the foyer, but because of how open the foyer is the scent carried everywhere! Fun little “accidental 😂” discovery and the entire house now smells amazing! Thank Suki 😬🐶

When my favorite little Valentine asks me to decorate his playroom...mommy delivers!

I gave the Valentine’s Day balloon kit from @Michaels a whirl...I gotta say, you honestly can’t beat the price for the amount of balloons in the pack and the overall size of the arch. This literally cost me $10! Everything else we had left over from last year 👏🏻

PS - I think I still prefer my fishing line trick for balloon arches (saved in my IGTV) but this was very easy and little ones can totally help!

If you happened to catch my stories today...I found a few boxes that I never fully unpacked from our move into this house 😳. FYI - we moved in 4.5 years ago...so...🥴!

However...finding them was a really good reminder that:
1. Making your house a home isn’t a race.
2. It takes time. (And in my case a lotta time 😆!)

Officially unpacking those boxes today got me excited to start renovating again. It’s been over 18 months since our last big project and I can’t wait to start making changes again.

PS - can you believe the dining room was the last big project - that feels like a lifetime ago 😂!!

I finally restyled after taking down all the holiday decor. I always go overboard with tons of greenery in the winter...I feel like it helps replace the cozy garland vibes of the holiday.

Anyone spy the new chair in the back corner?!? I still cannot believe I bought a recliner...and on the other hand I can’t believe I waited so long! Legit most comfy spot in the house 😜

Christmas library “shelfie” ✔️. A few of my favorite details about this year’s styling:

1. The LED lights on the wreath and in the lanterns - an inexpensive way to add instant warmth and holiday sparkle to decor that isn’t necessarily “holiday”.

2. The small trees in the brass tray of candles. A tiny little detail that adds a touch holiday fun.

3. The textured pillows and blankets in the baskets. They’re a great spot to throw the extra blankets or pillows. Storage + decorative 😉

4. The snowman...painted by my great-grandma for my mom and now it’s here in my house! It’s the only touch of red in this room and it makes me smile and think of her every time I see it!

Cozy holiday bedroom ✔️!! So glad we have battery operated lights in here this year. We’ve been warned we could lose power again overnite due to high winds...so having lots of battery operated twinkle lights around the house has been very helpful 😂
