CURTAIN COLOR: LODEN Exactly one year after the kitchen reno was (mostly) done… the drapes are finally up. 😂 I stalled forever on picking a color, and then when I finally landed on a green I loved—the cost for custom drapes was through the roof. Like, over $4,000 for this room alone. So I went back to the drawing board… almost scrapped the green altogether… but then found these. I started with just four panels in the kitchen to test the quality (because they weren’t custom), and wanted to make sure they didn’t look inexpensive. When you spend as much time and energy on a kitchen as we did… the details have to land. These were just over $30 a panel. I did splurge and had them professionally pressed at the dry cleaner before hanging them—huge difference. Out of the bag, they’d look totally different (and not in a good way). That’s your tip—press them first! So instead of $4K+, I did the whole room—including rods—for just under $900. We don’t open or close them; they’re purely there for cozy + wow. And they completely changed the room. Swapped out the couch pillows too (you know I make pillows 💁‍♀️), and the new green stripe plays so well with the curtains. Not like I planned that or anything… 😉. This room is now officially ready for Christmas, and I absolutely love it. P.S. I couldn’t have done this without all of you letting me hem and haw in stories over the curtain color. You guys are the best. 🫶
