Why I take 5am flights ✈️... and comment LINKS 🔗 for my no-fail travel system. 1️⃣ 5am means less traffic, shorter security lines and fewer delays. 2️⃣ For a family of 9, early flights are thousands less! Thousands. 3️⃣ The plane is usually very quiet. 4️⃣ My kids will sleep on the plane. 5️⃣ *We were originally scheduled to leave the next day, but the kids voted to go a day early... and there was one flight left. My early-morning mom travel tips... 6️⃣ I have little kids sleep in their airplane outfits ..soft sweats or knits. We don't fly in pjs... but think it's fine for small children. (Not teens!) 7️⃣ All suitcases are packed in the car the night before; I only leave under-the-seat bag/backpacks out for last minute things. 8️⃣ I keep a dedicated makeup + skincare bag that’s always ready to fly so mornings stay calm. 9️⃣ Shoes and clothes are laid out the night before. 🔟 I don’t do snacks until our normal breakfast time to encourage sleep. While I'd love to fly a bit later, for a big group, the sacrifice of waking up early is financially more responsible and usually more calm because kids are sleepy:)
