5 must-know tips before you pick up a paint brush 🎨🤍
Because paint can make or break a space — and these are the things designers actually think about 👇🏼
1️⃣ Not all white paint is created equal.
Every white has an undertone (warm, cool, or neutral), and that undertone will completely change how the color reads in your home. Always look beyond “just white.”
2️⃣ Test your paint on every wall.
The way a room faces and how sunlight hits throughout the day can make the same color look totally different from wall to wall.
3️⃣ Consider functionality.
Kitchens usually benefit from a brighter, cleaner white, while bedrooms and living spaces feel better with something softer and warmer.
4️⃣ Paint chips in the store aren’t accurate.
They’re too small and the lighting is nothing like your home. A sample on the wall is the only way to truly know.
5️⃣ It might not be your paint — it might be your light bulbs.
Bulb temperature affects paint more than people realize. The wrong bulb can make the perfect color look completely off.
Save this before your next paint project 🤍

✨ “Hygiene for your home.”
Because decorating is fun… but a truly happy home starts with being clean, healthy, and high-functioning.
(Comment “CLEAN” and I’ll send you my hygiene must-haves 🤍)

My non-negotiable home hygiene checklist:

1️⃣ Change your AC filter monthly
One of the easiest upgrades you can make for better air quality. It helps your HVAC work efficiently, reduces dust and allergens, and keeps pet dander under control. You’ll actually feel the difference. 🌬️

2️⃣ Use an air purifier (especially if you have pets)
It pulls dust, odors, pollen, bacteria, and even candle soot from the air. I run one in our bedroom and main living space 24/7 — it’s a quiet essential. 🐾

3️⃣ Wash bedding weekly
Sheets hold onto sweat, oils, and skin cells (not cute). I stick to white bedding so I can fully sanitize it, and I always keep extra sets to rotate. Clean sheets = instant hotel energy. 🤍

4️⃣ Vacuum + mop weekly
Don’t wait until floors look dirty. Consistency prevents buildup. Vacuum slowly to lift allergens properly, and use a gentle cleaner that protects your floors while actually cleaning them. 🧹✨

5️⃣ Keep hypochlorous acid stocked
My secret weapon. Non-toxic, naturally derived, and powerful enough to disinfect, deodorize, and refresh surfaces and fabrics. Safe for pets, kids, and sensitive skin — truly magic. 💧

6️⃣ Run a diffuser daily
I keep mine going around the clock with clean, non-toxic oils. It keeps the house smelling fresh, helps purify the air, and instantly creates a calm, cozy atmosphere. 🌿

Because a beautiful home isn’t just about how it looks — it’s about how it functions and how it makes you feel. ✨

Part 20 of my 25 Interior Design Tips for 2025 ✨
How to style your coffee table like an interior designer 👇

1️⃣ Do you need a coffee table? Yes—always.
In smaller living rooms, opt for a round coffee table to keep things feeling open. In larger spaces, go long or rectangular to cover more surface area and properly anchor the room.

2️⃣ Decorate in sections.
If coffee table styling feels tricky, this is the secret. Break it up into sections and it instantly feels easier.
• Round tables → style in 3
• Square or rectangular tables → style 4–5 sections for balance

3️⃣ Pick your style: minimal or maximal.
This comes down to how you live and how functional the space needs to be. Both work. I personally love lots of texture and varied heights, but do what fits your home.

4️⃣ Add a light element.
A candle is a classic, but a small rechargeable lamp on a coffee table is such an interior-designer trick. That soft glow in the center of the living room is chef’s kiss.

5️⃣ Always add height + texture.
Coffee table books, stacked trays, sculptural objects, and florals are the easiest way to elevate the look and keep it visually interesting.

Save this for later 🤍 I shared tons of inspo + exact pieces to recreate this look—and more tips coming soon ✨
✨ How to Decorate a Bedroom Like an Interior Designer — using only Amazon finds ✨

This space was inspired by one of my all-time favorite designers, Amber Interiors. The goal? Something timeless, traditional, and effortlessly elevated — all while staying budget-friendly.

A few of my favorite designer tips:
🛏️ Stick to a neutral color palette when you’re mixing furniture pieces — it instantly feels cohesive and high-end.
💡 If you’re decorating on a budget, buy a headboard instead of a full bed frame. You can always grab an inexpensive frame (even thrift one from Goodwill) and still get that custom look.
🪞 I’ll always advocate for a three-drawer dresser in small bedrooms — it gives you the same storage, but looks perfectly symmetrical and balanced.

This entire setup feels timeless, and the best part? You can easily layer in holiday decor without it ever feeling out of place.
headed somewhere chilly tomorrow—heard these are the best thermal layer✨🫶🏼
25 Interior Design Tips for 2025 — PART 20 💥
Five more must-know interior designer secrets you need to start using ASAP:
1️⃣ Hang your curtains high.
The easiest instant upgrade. Raise them 8–12 inches above the window frame and make sure your panels are 1.5–2× the width of your window so everything feels luxe, tall, and intentional.
2️⃣ Fake a large furniture moment.
If you need a big piece but don’t want the big price tag? Combine smaller pieces. I’ve done this in my living room and dining room — it looks custom and saves so much money.
3️⃣ Decorate in odd numbers.
3, 5, 7. Trust me. Odd numbers are scientifically proven to be more visually pleasing and balanced. It’s one of the easiest designer tricks you can start using today.
4️⃣ Use lamps everywhere.
Lamps are your best friend. Every. Single. Room. Even the kitchen. They bring warmth, dimension, and that designer “glow” your overhead lights could never give you.
5️⃣ Neutral furniture always wins.
Choose neutrals for your big investment pieces so you can rotate color through textiles — pillows, rugs, curtains, lampshades. It keeps your space timeless while still letting you have fun with trends.

Part 19 of 25 Interior Design Tips for 2025 ✨ — how to shop at Target like an interior designer 👩🏻‍🎨🏡
Target will always have a chokehold on me, but here’s how to shop it strategically so you get elevated, designer-approved pieces without blowing your budget:
Lighting is your first stop. Target has some of the best table lamps at an affordable price — just make sure you’re choosing something oversized with a substantial base. Avoid tiny lamps or skinny bases… they tend to fall flat and cheapen your space.
Next up: frames. If you’re building out wall decor, Target’s matted frames are such a win. They instantly make your art look custom. The only thing I skip? Clear matted frames and those oversized poster-style frames that can feel a little dorm-room.
Throw pillows are my love language, but here’s the key: ALWAYS check for a removable cover. If it zips off, you can pop in my favorite Amazon inserts and instantly make it look designer.
Wall art, on the other hand… listen, Target and Walmart wall art is not my fave because it’s overused and lacks originality. BUT their mirrors? Such a gem. Choose one with a unique frame or shape to elevate your entryway or bedroom.
And lastly — bedding. If you’re a hot sleeper, Target’s 100% cotton percale is one of the best budget options. It lasts forever, feels crisp, and pairs so well with their hypoallergenic duvets.
Save this for your next Target run and shop smarter like a designer 🤍🛒✨

The BEST day of the year 🎉✨

#LTKHoliday
✨ Decorating your home for the holidays doesn’t have to feel overwhelming — these are my five fool-proof tips I swear by every single year. ✨
First things first: pick a color palette or theme. This is truly the secret to stress-free decorating. When you already know your colors, everything you buy automatically works together. It keeps your home feeling cohesive and intentional instead of random.
Next… layer, layer, layer. Your ornaments, your ribbons, your garlands — all of it. Layering is how you get that full, finished, designer-level look. It’s honestly the most important step.
And of course, lighting. Add more than you think you need. My Home Depot lighting hack changed my tree forever, and twinkle lights or fairy lights tucked into garlands make every corner magical.
Then sprinkle in seasonal accents — stems, bells, bows, holiday prints… this is where you get the most bang for your buck. Little touches go a long way and instantly make each space feel festive.
And finally: the more, the merrier. Don’t limit the holiday spirit to just one room. Add a little cheer to your kitchen, your coffee table, your bathroom… it’s the one time of year where “going all out” is the vibe.

Part 17 of 25 Interior Design Tips for 2025 — and today we’re talking smart splurges 🛋️✨
Five home decor items that are 100% worth investing in (even if you’re a budget girlie like me).

🛏️ 1. Bedding
You use it every single day, so yes… it’s worth it. I always splurge here. Percale is my ride-or-die as a hot sleeper — crisp, breathable, and instantly elevates your entire bedroom.

🍽️ 2. Flatware
Hot take: splurge on flatware before dinnerware. A chic, heavyweight utensil set makes every meal feel elevated and lasts forever.

🧺 3. Organizers
An organized home is a peaceful home. Investing in good organizers saves time, energy, and about 47 future headaches.

💡 4. Lighting
Always, always splurge. Think table lamps, sconces, pendants — plus quality light bulbs. Lighting is the jewelry of the home, and it sets the tone for your entire space.

🧶 5. Large Area Rugs
Size. Up. Always. A larger rug grounds your room, adds warmth, and instantly makes everything feel more designer.

If you’re trying to make your home feel elevated without blowing your budget, these five categories are game-changers 🤍✨

#LTKHome
✨ My viral Home Depot Christmas tree DIY — the one I’ve done for 3 years now — is BACK! 🎄 If you’ve been eyeing that $600 designer tree because it’s so full and glowy, here’s your sign to DIY it yourself.
All you need are these Amazon string lights, your existing tree, and a little patience. The secret is layering tons of lights for that luxe “department store glow.” I also linked every ornament I used this year if you want to recreate the full look.
Trust me — this hack is 1000% worth the time. Your tree will look insane in the best way possible. ✨

Part 16 of 25 Interior Design Tips for 2025 ✨ and today we’re tackling the questions I get asked every single day as a designer — my 5 must-know home decor rules that will completely change the way your space looks and feels.
🫶 1. Do you need an area rug? YES. Every room (and even hallways!) need rugs. And please… go big or go home.
🎨 2. Paint sheen? Eggshell forever. It looks matte, hides imperfections, and is wipeable — the dream combo.
🛏️ 3. Pillow sizing? Always size up your inserts. A 20x20 cover needs a 22x22 insert for that plush, designer look.
☁️ 4. Duvet or comforter? Duvet. Always. It gives that hotel-quality volume and the luxe finish you see in every inspo photo.
🖼️ 5. How high to hang wall art? Over furniture: keep a 4–6 inch gap. On a blank wall: aim for eye level — around 60 inches.
Save this for your next room makeover because these five rules alone will instantly elevate your home. ✨
