The history alone is breathtaking — at one point, it was home to Pope Innocent XI, and it’s now been restored into a 24-room boutique hotel that feels less like an overnight stay and more like a life-changing experience. 🕊️🇮🇹 I’m endlessly inspired by the European architecture and Italian interior design — it’s truly one of the most stunning places on Earth. Unpopular opinion: I love open-concept homes 😌✨
I know they’re not everyone’s favorite, but when they’re done right, they feel airy, inviting, and effortless.
Here’s how to decorate one like a pro 👇

1️⃣ Pick a color palette and stick to it religiously.
If decorating isn’t your strong suit, neutrals are your best friend — they’ll instantly make your space feel cohesive and calm.

2️⃣ Use area rugs to define spaces.
This is the most important part. Without them, everything blends together and feels like one giant room. I always recommend XL rugs in open-concept layouts.

3️⃣ Layer in lamps.
The biggest mistake people make is skipping lighting — you need multiple lamps to keep things cozy instead of sterile.

4️⃣ Think about walkability.
Since it’s one large space, you should be able to move around easily. Keep pathways open and your furniture layout intentional.

If you do these four things, your open floor plan won’t feel like a warehouse — it’ll feel like a dream home. 🤍

2️⃣ Lightbulbs – Hear me out: lighting can make or break your home. If your space feels like an operating room, it’s time to turn off the overheads 🙈 Stick to warm, cozy lamps and soft lighting instead — it changes everything.

3️⃣ Family gallery walls – Controversial, I know 😬 but they’re really hard to get right. If you’re going to do it, make sure your frames have mats, the photos are all in the same tone or section, and PLEASE hang them straight.

2️⃣ Replace softeners with white vinegar (seriously—game changer).
3️⃣ Add borax. It disinfects + deep cleans like nothing else.
Bonus if you’re a little bougie like me:
