Warm up with the rich flavors of red wine, spices, and a touch of honey. I added an orange rind for more citrus! This is perfect for hosting as you can make it ahead of time and guests can serve themselves! Cheers to the holidays! 🍷❄️*

Recipe:

- 3 green cardamom pods, gently crushed
- 3 whole cloves
- Generous pinch of freshly ground black pepper - peel of one orange
- 1/4 cup honey
- Optional: 1/4 cup cognac

Pour the wine into an unheated saucepan. Add the spices and honey, and bring to a simmer. Turn off the heat and let it stand for 15 minutes. Reheat the wine until warm and steamy, then turn off the heat. Add the cognac if using. Pour the wine into heat-resistant glasses and serve!

The carajillo, Spanish for courage, is the perfect two ingredient cocktail for sipping in the late afternoon or after dinner. With notes of vanilla and spice, I think it would be hard to find a two ingredient cocktail with more holiday flavor packed in! If I’m being honest, this might be better than an espresso martini.

Carajillo

2 oz licor 43
2 oz espresso or very strong coffee

Pour ingredients into a cocktail shaker, fill with ice, and shake well for 15 seconds. This shake is what will give you the velvety foamy texture. Strain over a large ice cube, sip, and enjoy.

Would also be great with a nice orange twist and even with some reposado tequila added hehe.

One of the best and easiest ways to elevate a cocktail at home is to make some citrus salt to put around the rim! It adds an extra pop of flavor and is perfect for margaritas 🍋💜✨
It’s Sunday, and Sundays are great days for simple joys. Sometimes you want a cocktail without all the hassle, and cheeky cocktail syrups are perfect for that moment! I had high hopes for this espresso martini but you can see from my face that I was still pretty shocked at how delicious it was! Can’t wait to try their other syrups!

A Sunday kind of espresso martini
2 oz vodka
1 oz Cheeky espresso syrup
3 espresso beans for garnish

Shake vigorously with ice and strain into a martini or coupe glass.
I have been wanting to make this cocktail since I tried it last year at miracle pop up on Spring Mountain at the Sand Dollar Lounge, one of my favorite spots in Vegas. It is SO good, and I am honestly typically a bit iffy on cocktails with dairy in them. The licor 43 brings in amazing vanilla flavors that lead into the incredible minty flavor of the franca menta. But I think the earthy vanilla flavor of the pandan and coconut syrup is what truly tips this cocktail into the divine! Pandan is a leaf that is often used in South and Southeast asian cultures.

glass : vintage baccarat

Christmas Cricket Cocktail

1.5 oz blanco tequila
.5 oz @licor43usa
.25 oz branca menta
.75 oz coconut pandan syrup
.75 oz cream
2 dashes molé bitters

Grated nutmeg or dark chocolate to garnish

Add ingredients to a cocktail shaker, fill with ice, and strain into a coupe, nick and nora, or small wine glass like I have used here!

Coco Pandan syrup

250 ml coconut water
125 g sugar
5 pandan leaves

Bring all ingredients to a boil and simmer until the sugar dissolves. Strain into a container and store for up to 4 weeks in the fridge.

Let me know if youd like a video of me making the syrup itself!

I thought it would be fun to revisit some of your favorite reels from this past year as we make way for 2024!

Today we start with a favorite Tuesday tip from May 2023! Lots of folks underestimate how important choosing the right kind of ice is when crafting a cocktail. But dilution and chilling make an enormous difference in your end result, both of which rely in part on ice. A dense, large, clear cube will melt more slowly than small ice pebbles or crushed ice, so it’s important to choose the right kind of ice!

The small size of crushed ice means more of the drinks surface area is touching the ice, which causes the drink to chill more quickly without over-diluting. This is particularly useful in drinks that require quick cooling, such as Mint Juleps and Mojitos.

It is also useful for thinning out syrups and juices, making it ideal for many tiki drinks. The tiny pebbles will thin out the liquids, creating a snow cone effect that adds just the right amount of dilution to these spirit-forward cocktails, while keeping them consistently chilled.

So next time you’re making a refreshing summer cocktail, don’t forget to grab the ice crusher or Lewis bag and add some crushed ice!

Raise your glasses to history with the classic French 75 cocktail! 🥂Originating from World War I, this bubbly concoction was said to have the kick of a French 75mm field gun. Combining the brightness of lemon, the botanicals of gin, and the effervescence of champagne, it is defeinitely a crowd pleaser!

I have always served french 75s in coupes, but I recently learned from cocktail history king Jeffereyt Morgenthaler that they were originally meant to be served in a collins glass, similar to a Tom Collins! That is how they appeared in the cocktail book by Harry MacElhone, who credited “MacGarry”, a bartender at Buck’s Club in London. Here is a french 75 recipe for ya!

Classic French 75

1. 1 oz Gin
2. .5 oz Fresh lemon juice
3. .5 oz 2:1 simple syrup
4. Champagne, to top

Shake gin, lemon juice, and syrup in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Strain into a champagne flute, then top with champagne. Garnish with a lemon twist.

I recently stopped by @lvnowtv and made a hibiscus French 75! If you would like to make a hibiscus version, make this hibiscus syrup and directly substitute for simple syrup. See how easy it is to get creative with the classics?!

Hibiscus syrup (2:1)

1 part water
2 parts sugar
1/4 part dried hibiscus

Combine water and sugar in a sauce pan and heat until dissolved. Remove from heat and steep dried hibiscus for 15 minutes. Let cool then strain into a storage bottle. Keep in the fridge for up to two weeks.

Hey, cocktail fans! Another Tuesday Tip time. Let’s talk about adding salt to a margarita glass! This does amazing things for balancing the sweet and tart flavors of the margarita and you can even get a little wild and add tajin or fresh grated citrus rind!

1. Rub a lime wedge around your glass rim. This helps the salt stick.
2. Spread coarse kosher salt on a flat plate
3. Dip the rim of your glass into the salt, and twist it for even coverage.

And there you have it! A perfectly salted margarita glass. Cheers!
This super savory and delicious cocktail from Seattle bartender Jamie Boudreau brings together ingredients from Spain, Italy and Mexico - sherry, Cynar, and tequila. This booze-forward cocktail is truly delicious. It was the perfect cocktail to test out my Tepotzli mixing glass my sister got me for Christmas. It is so gorgeous I can barely stand to use it!

What are you drinking on the first day of spring?

Latin Trifecta

- 1 ounce tequila
- 1 ounce Cynar

Welcome to another Tuesday tips! Today we are talking about the simple beauty of built cocktails. Some cocktails require a shaker or a mixing glass, but built cocktails are assembled right in the glass they’re served in, making them perfect for simple mixes that don’t need a shake or stir. It’s all about layering - ice first, spirits next, and mixers to top it off. 🙌

In a nutshell, built cocktails are all about simplicity, straightforward preparation, and a stunning presentation. So, here’s to built cocktails - easy to make, a delight to look at, and a joy to sip! 🥂 #KSTuesdaytips #cocktailrecipes #easycocktails #builtcocktails #cocktailtips
This one is sooooo delicious - the blackberry elderflower sour! This uses the blackberry syrup I shared earlier this week to make a gorgeous summer sour cocktail! This refreshing cocktail perfectly blends the rich, fruity sweetness of blackberries with the delicate floral notes of elderflower. I made this inspired by our honeymoon trip to Scotland, and used Neptune gin from @hendricksgin and that was the perfect choice! We loved how elderflower was used in the cuisine there, so this was so fun to make!

Blackberry elderflower sour

**1.75 oz gin**

**.5 oz elderflower liqueur**

**.75 oz blackberry syrup**

1 oz lemon juice

.5 oz egg white

Shake and double strain into a coupe, nick and Nora, or sour glass. Cheers!
It’s almost rum cocktail season! I can’t wait. It’s #piratefest this weekend in Vegas, and while it’s a bit blustery it has me thinking of warmer days. What are your favorite rum cocktails?
