For the longest time I struggled with how to make something feel functional and beautiful. It felt like I had to pick and choose.

Like if it worked well, it couldn’t also feel warm and inviting… and if it looked beautiful, it probably wasn’t very practical for real, everyday life.

But somewhere along the way, I realized it was never about choosing one or the other—it was about layering both.

Letting the pretty things be useful.
Letting the functional things be seen.
Letting a space feel lived-in, not just styled.

And that’s where the magic started to happen.
So if you’ve been waiting for permission to make your spaces both… this is it šŸ¤

There’s just something about taking the ā€œbasicā€ pieces in your closet and layering them in a way that makes you feel cute, comfortable, and a little more put together. šŸ¤Ž

I think athletic wear gets a bad rep for feeling too casual sometimes, but honestly? A good pair of athletic shorts, an oversized pullover, a fitted tank, and some chunky gold jewelry can make you feel surprisingly elevated while still being comfortable enough to live real life in.

Whether I’m heading to the gym, sitting at a baseball game, grabbing a mid-morning coffee, or just running around town with the kids… this is pretty much my summer uniform. 😜

And Amazon has honestly become one of my favorite places to find athletic shorts that are cute, flattering, and actually affordable.

A real time family review of the homemade (refined sugar free) lemon ice cream I made.

Since I have been on a journey of healing my gut, I have been trying to stay away from refined sugars and overly processed foods. So I made this homemade šŸ‹lemon ice cream that is entirely sweetened with honey šŸÆ and it’s safe to say that this will be a family favorite for years to come.

You can comment RECIPE below, and I will send you the recipe to your DMs!

Happy homemaking!

Mattress update ….. what happened while I was gone in Michigan for the last week.
As a kid, I never realized how lucky I was to grow up with Midwest summers.

The smell of dew on the grass. Lightning bugs after dinner. Sprinklers running until sunset. Bare feet, boat rides, grilled dinners, and golden evenings that seemed to last forever.

Now I get to watch my own kids live that same kind of childhood, and I find myself soaking it in just as much as they are. Their sun-kissed faces, dirty feet, and rosy cheeks remind me that these ordinary days are the ones we’ll miss the most.

If you’re craving a slower, softer way of living—one that finds beauty in the everyday—I think you’ll feel right at home here. šŸ¤

Tell me… what’s one thing that instantly feels like summer to you?

For years, this little pink room has quietly become one of the most loved spaces in our home. And honestly? I think it’s because it gave me permission to stop playing it safe.

The color is called ā€œJust Rosyā€ by PPG Paints (Pittsburgh Paints), and while it may look bold at first glance, it actually reads incredibly soft and warm throughout the day. It changes with the light in the prettiest way and somehow manages to feel playful, cozy, vintage, and timeless all at once.

I think so many people are afraid of using color because they assume it will feel overwhelming, but what I’ve learned through this room is that color can actually make a home feel more lived in, layered, and personal.

So if you’ve been waiting for permission to paint the room pink… this is it. šŸ¤

You don’t need fancy tableware or a perfectly styled tablescape to host the party.

Use the mismatched plates. The wrinkled linen napkins. The cups you’ve collected over the years. Clip flowers from your garden. Scatter fruit down the center of the table. Make do with what you have.

It doesn’t have to be perfect.

It just has to be a gathering place.

Three summers ago, I turned this little space between our garage and back entryway into an outdoor hosting spot. Before that, it was an awkward in-between area of our home that felt unused and purposeless.

But one afternoon I set up a few folding tables, draped old painter’s drop cloths over the top, and added whatever I could find around the house.

And somehow, it became something I never expected.

What once felt like wasted space became a place where women from so many different seasons and circles of my life have gathered. A place to celebrate, to cry, to laugh until our stomachs hurt, to share meals, stories, and pieces of our hearts.

And every time I look at it, I’m reminded that so much beauty comes from simply starting before everything feels ready.

So consider this your sign to host the dinner party.

The people won’t remember whether your plates matched.

They’ll remember how they felt around your table. šŸ¤

We chose bamboo sheets from @onequince because they’re unbelievably soft, stay cool through the night, and somehow make our bed feel like a luxury hotel. Safe to say… we’re obsessed.
These are the pieces you all have been loving most lately—and honestly, I can see why. From timeless home finds to effortless wardrobe staples, these are the tried-and-true favorites that continue to top the list.

I recently learned that people who put their hands in dirt are shown to have lower stress levels, better moods, and a deeper sense of wellbeing.

And honestly...that tracks. 😜

Because the older I get, the more I realize I’m not craving a bigger life. I’m craving a slower one.

One with dirt under my fingernails, tomatoes that may or may not survive my care, coffee on the porch, open windows, and enough margin to notice what’s blooming.

A life that feels grounded. Cultivated. Tended to.

Not rushed, forced, or over-processed.

Maybe that’s why I’ve been spending so much time in the garden lately. Not because I’m trying to become some master gardener (the evidence would suggest otherwise), but because it reminds me that the best things usually grow slowly.

And if I’m being honest, that’s a lesson I seem to need on repeat. šŸ¤

Two years ago, this was just an idea scribbled in the margins of my notebook… a ā€œsomedayā€ dream I kept bringing up to my husband in passing.

A little greenhouse tucked behind our garden beds. A place to start seeds, clip flowers, and slow down for a minute.

But life was full. Four kids. Renovations. Work. All the things that felt more ā€œimportant.ā€ So it stayed a dream… one I talked about often, but quietly assumed would take a back seat.

And yet, I couldn’t shake it.
I kept picturing early mornings out here… dirt under my nails, coffee in hand, growing something from nothing.

Not because it was productive. Not because it looked impressive. But because it felt like me.

So we started. Slowly. Weekend by weekend. Board by board. A two-year labor of love that didn’t happen overnight… but maybe that’s what makes this moment feel so sacred.

Because this isn’t just a greenhouse.

It’s proof that the quiet dreams you keep coming back to… the ones that don’t make a lot of noise… the ones that don’t necessarily ā€œmake senseā€ to anyone else…
are usually the ones worth building.

If you’re someone who’s holding onto a slow, steady dream like that… you’re in the right place here. 🌿

Turns out ā€œgetting healthyā€ in your 30s looks a lot less like a wellness retreat and a lot more like carrying around lemon water, aggressively stretching your upper back, and suddenly caring deeply about digestion. 😜

But honestly? I’ve never felt more committed to caring for myself from the inside out.

Lately I’ve been focusing on:
• hydration + minerals (warm lemon water + 2 pinches of @celticseasalt first thing in the morning has been sooo good for digestion… IYKYK)
• daily walks + lifting after school drop off (2–5 miles a day + lifting 3–4x a week)
• healing my gut (currently on a strict 3 month protocol for parasites + bacterial overgrowth — check my ā€œgutā€ highlight if you want more info)
• tension relief for my angry upper back šŸ˜µā€šŸ’« (loving the Relief Salts + Relief Balm from @wholyme_official )
• skin health (the Tranquility Body Scrub from @comfortzoneskin_official completely changed the roughness on my arms)
• protein + nourishing foods (trying to prioritize hot, protein-rich meals first thing in the morning)
• getting myself dressed + ready everyday because somehow it makes me feel 87% more productive 😜

Nothing extreme.
Just small, intentional rhythms that are helping me feel healthier, calmer, stronger, and more like myself again. šŸ¤
This is your sign to host the garden party. 🌿

Not when the landscaping is finished.
Not when you finally replace the patio furniture.
Not when your house feels ā€œready.ā€

Now.

Borrow the folding tables. Throw a painters drop cloth over the top. Gather mismatched plates from the cupboard. Clip a few flowers from the garden and light the candles anyway.

Because people won’t remember whether everything matched.

They’ll remember the way the string lights twinkled as the sun went down. The laughter that echoed across the table. The second helping of dessert. The conversations that lingered long after the dishes were cleared.

I’ve found that the most beautiful homes aren’t the most perfect ones—they’re the ones where people feel welcome enough to stay awhile.

So here’s your reminder to stop waiting for the perfect season of life and start creating the memories you’re hoping for.

Your home doesn’t need to impress anyone.

It just needs one more chair. šŸ¤

A life that feels slower. Softer. More rooted.

A life where loving Jesus matters more than impressing people. Where beauty is found in open windows, homemade meals, dirt paths through the garden, worn wood floors, and lamp light at 6pm. Where the rhythm of the day is shaped more by the weather outside than the noise of the world online. Where success looks less like constantly striving and more like being fully present.

I want to raise kids who know how to have conversations, use their imaginations, grow things with their hands, come inside barefoot after long summer evenings, and understand there’s more to life than a screen.

I want a home that feels lived in. One full of old recipes, meaningful traditions, muddy boots by the back door, hand-me-down treasures, and the kind of love that lingers long after the dishes are done.

For so long I thought I had to want what everyone else wanted. More. Bigger. Better. But the older I get, the more I realize the life I’m longing for is actually much simpler. More time outside. More meals around the table. More tending to the things that truly matter.

And maybe, if you’ve been feeling this too, you’re not behind. You’re just being called toward something different. šŸ¤

Front porch summer rain!
The older I get, the more I realize home was never meant to just impress people.

It’s meant to hold them.

The laughter echoing from the kitchen while dinner simmers on the stove. The hard conversations whispered after bedtime. The familiar comfort of routines repeated over and over again until they quietly become someone’s childhood.

I think that’s why I care so deeply about creating a home that feels lived in, layered, warm, and welcoming. Not because perfection matters… but because people do.

Because long after the paint colors change and the trends fade, what remains is how a home made someone feel.

As a kid, I never realized how incredibly blessed I was to grow up experiencing summer in the Midwest.

You spend the long, dreary months of winter waiting for it… anticipating the season that somehow makes everything feel alive again.

The smell of dew on the grass first thing in the morning. Lightning bugs dancing across the yard. Sprinklers running until sunset. Bare feet. Boat rides. Grilling outside. Ice cream melting faster than you can eat it.
It’s as if the whole earth wakes up… and with it, so does your soul.

Now, as a mom, I get to watch that same magic unfold through the eyes of my own children. They have no idea how precious these days are—the ones soaked in golden evening light and filled with endless imagination.

I cherish their sun-kissed faces, the rosy cheeks they come inside with, the dirt beneath their fingernails, and the laughter that echoes through open windows.

One day they’ll look back and realize these ordinary summer nights were never ordinary at all. They were the moments that shaped a childhood.

So here’s your reminder: stay outside a little longer, let the dishes wait, chase the lightning bugs, and say yes to one more bike ride around the block.

For a long time, I thought the life I wanted looked like more.

More progress. More perfection. More to show for it.
But somewhere along the way, that shifted.

I’ve found myself drawn to a quieter kind of life—
one that isn’t built on impressing anyone, but on being present.

A life that looks like open windows on a warm day,
homemade meals shared around the table,
the creak of old floors, and lamp light at 6pm. A life where faith leads, where our home is lived in and loved deeply, and where my kids grow up knowing there’s more to this world than what a screen can offer.

It’s slower. Softer. More rooted.

And maybe it doesn’t look like ā€œmoreā€ to everyone else…but it feels like everything to me. šŸ¤
