Just a girl… finally stepping into the dream she kept talking about šŸ¤

Two years ago, this was just an idea scribbled in the margins of my notebook… a ā€œsomedayā€ dream I kept bringing up to my husband in passing. A little greenhouse tucked behind our garden beds. A place to start seeds, clip flowers, and slow down for a minute.

But life was full. Four kids. Renovations. Work. All the things that felt more ā€œimportant.ā€ So it stayed a dream… one I talked about often, but quietly assumed would take a back seat.

And yet, I couldn’t shake it. I kept picturing early mornings out here… dirt under my nails, coffee in hand, growing something from nothing. Not because it was productive. Not because it looked impressive. But because it felt like me.

So we started. Slowly. Board by board. A two-year labor of love that didn’t happen overnight… but maybe that’s what makes this moment feel so sacred.

Because this isn’t just a greenhouse…It’s proof that the quiet dreams you keep coming back to… the ones that don’t make a lot of noise… the ones that don’t necessarily ā€œmake senseā€ to anyone else…
are usually the ones worth building.

If you’re someone who’s holding onto a slow, steady dream like that… you’re in the right place here. 🌿

The quiet evening watering sessions. Checking on the hydrangeas like they’re family members.

Walking through the garden first thing in the morning before the rest of the house wakes up.

None of it is particularly glamorous… but somehow it feels like the kind of life I always hoped for. šŸ¤
Maybe that’s the beauty of growing things.

They teach you to slow down long enough to notice what’s already right in front of you. ā˜€ļø

For the longest time I struggled with how to make something feel functional and beautiful. It felt like I had to pick and choose.

Like if it worked well, it couldn’t also feel warm and inviting… and if it looked beautiful, it probably wasn’t very practical for real, everyday life.

But somewhere along the way, I realized it was never about choosing one or the other—it was about layering both.

Letting the pretty things be useful.
Letting the functional things be seen.
Letting a space feel lived-in, not just styled.

And that’s where the magic started to happen.
So if you’ve been waiting for permission to make your spaces both… this is it šŸ¤

For years, this little pink room has quietly become one of the most loved spaces in our home. And honestly? I think it’s because it gave me permission to stop playing it safe.

The color is called ā€œJust Rosyā€ by PPG Paints (Pittsburgh Paints), and while it may look bold at first glance, it actually reads incredibly soft and warm throughout the day. It changes with the light in the prettiest way and somehow manages to feel playful, cozy, vintage, and timeless all at once.

I think so many people are afraid of using color because they assume it will feel overwhelming, but what I’ve learned through this room is that color can actually make a home feel more lived in, layered, and personal.

So if you’ve been waiting for permission to paint the room pink… this is it. šŸ¤

If you’re choosing this kind of summer over a packed schedule…let me know in the comments!

Lately I’ve been realizing that my idea of a ā€œgoodā€ summer has changed.

It used to feel like it needed to be full… plans, trips, things to do. But the older I get, the more I find myself craving something slower. Something that actually feels like I’m living it while it’s happening. ā˜€ļø

Open windows that let the breeze move through the house.
Fresh herbs on the counter from the garden.
Simple dinners at home with the people I love.

The kind of days that feel a little like being a kid again… when summer didn’t need to be impressive to be memorable. šŸ¤

I don’t know, maybe it’s nostalgia… or maybe it’s finally realizing the life I was looking for has been here all along. šŸ”

Comment SHOP to get my favorite cafe curtain hardware and these simple cafe curtains!

I went back and forth on these for way too long. Part of me wondered if they’d feel too ā€œold,ā€ too busy, too much.

But the moment they went up… everything softened.
The light feels warmer. The mornings feel slower. Even the most ordinary tasks…pouring coffee, rinsing dishes, watching the kids play outside…feel a little more special.

It’s one of those small changes that somehow shifts the whole atmosphere of a space.

Sometimes it really is the smallest details that make a house feel like home.

There’s something about summer that makes me want to slow everything down.

The flags come out, the windows stay open, and the days start to feel a little softer… a little more like something I don’t want to rush through. ā˜€ļø
It’s not anything big or elaborate.

Just small things—fresh meals, time at home, kids in the yard, and little corners that feel lived in and loved.
The kind of summer that feels familiar… like something you’ve known before, even if you can’t quite place it. šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø

Maybe that’s what I’m chasing.
Not a perfect summer… just one that feels like this. šŸ¤

For a long time, I thought the life I wanted looked like more.

More progress. More perfection. More to show for it.
But somewhere along the way, that shifted.

I’ve found myself drawn to a quieter kind of life—
one that isn’t built on impressing anyone, but on being present.

A life that looks like open windows on a warm day,
homemade meals shared around the table,
the creak of old floors, and lamp light at 6pm. A life where faith leads, where our home is lived in and loved deeply, and where my kids grow up knowing there’s more to this world than what a screen can offer.

It’s slower. Softer. More rooted.

And maybe it doesn’t look like ā€œmoreā€ to everyone else…but it feels like everything to me. šŸ¤

If you’ve been craving this kind of life too, I think you’ll feel at home here. šŸ”

Another beautiful morning
For the longest time, I thought making something feel ā€œspecialā€ meant it had to be elaborate or perfectly styled. But the older I get, the more I realize it’s usually the smallest touches that change everything.

A simple tablecloth. A little shade from an umbrella. Lemon or lime slices in your water. A bowl of fruit you already have on hand. Maybe a few herbs clipped from the garden and set in the middle of the table.

Nothing over the top. Nothing complicated. Just a little intention.

Because it’s not really about the table… it’s about creating a moment you actually want to sit in. One that invites you to slow down, stay a while, and enjoy what’s already in front of you.

Save this for the next warm day… and tell me, what’s one small thing you’d add to your table to make it feel special? 🌿

I have a feeling so many of us are longing for this, even if we don’t quite have the words for it.

A life that is slower. Gentler. More grounded.

A life where loving Jesus matters more than being admired. Where beauty is tucked into the ordinary... open windows, soup simmering on the stove, creaky wood floors, lamp glow at dusk. Where success is measured less by how much we accomplish and more by how fully we show up.

I want to raise children who know how to look people in the eye, entertain themselves, spend their days outside, and understand there is a whole world beyond a screen.
I want a home that feels warm and well-loved. One filled with old recipes, family traditions, thrifted treasures, and the kind of closeness that stays long after the kitchen has been cleaned up.

For a long time, I thought I was supposed to want more. More success. More recognition. More of whatever everyone else seemed to be chasing.

But the older I get, the more I find myself drawn to a quieter kind of life... one that may not look impressive to the world, but feels deeply beautiful to me.

And if you’ve been feeling this pull too, maybe you’re not falling behind. Maybe you’re simply being invited into a different way of living. šŸ¤

When I was a little girl, if you had asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, my answer would have been simple: a mom.

That was the dream. A home full of life. Kids in the kitchen. Dinner on the table. A quiet, ordinary life filled with love.

And then I became a mom... and somewhere along the way, I started believing the lie that it wasn’t enough.
That maybe I should be doing something bigger.

Something that looked more impressive. Something that earned more praise, more attention, more applause.

So I spent a lot of time feeling discontent with the very life I had once longed for. I kept thinking there had to be something else out there for me.

But the more I chased that other version of success, the more I realized how much I was missing. I was missing the sacredness of the ordinary. The little hands. The slow mornings. The privilege of being home.
And slowly, I found my way back.

Back to the life I had always wanted. Back to the version of success that feels true to me. Back to believing that loving my family, creating a home, and being present in these days is not something to apologize for or outgrow.

Coming home to this dream was always where I was meant to be. šŸ¤

I was randomly scrolling through Facebook Marketplace a couple years ago when I stumbled upon this round marble coffee table for $100… and I didn’t even hesitate.

It wasn’t perfect… a little worn, a little heavy, definitely not something you just ā€œtoss in the cartā€ā€¦ but it had that feeling. Like it belonged somewhere with a story.

And honestly, those are the pieces that end up meaning the most.

Not the brand new, perfectly styled, straight-out-of-the-box finds… but the ones you almost pass by. The ones that require a second look. The ones that make you rearrange an entire room just to make them fit.

Now it’s one of those pieces I can’t imagine our home without… layered in with everything else we’ve slowly collected over time.

If you’ve been on the hunt for something similar, comment SHOP and I’ll send a few options straight to your DMs šŸ¤
