Turns out I didn’t need a nap.
I needed dopamine. 🐆
And yesterday it came in leopard pants and sparkly shoelaces.

By 35, I’ve learned that “dopamine dressing” is not about trends or rules. It is about choosing pieces that wake YOUR brain up.
Color, texture, pattern… and those small details actually signal your nervous system that something good is happening. That part is science, not vanity. 👩🏻‍🔬

For me, it may look like mixing leopard pants with a checkered bag, adding a charm littered necklace, swapping in sparkly laces, and letting the outfit build itself piece by piece until it feels right. For you, it might look completely different … and that is the whole point.

Getting dressed with intention shifts my mood. It creates momentum. A quiet moment of showing up for myself.

Here’s what I did yesterday, as a stay at home mom, to re-set midweek so I can re-focus on the days ahead.
Small, simple acts of just TAKING CARE OF YOURSELF can really make alllll the difference.
2026 has already thrown curve balls & lots of “what the actual hell”s at my “hell yeah” attitude I tried to enter the year with , so not losing myself in the process of it all isn’t always the easiest.
That’s where these “little” tasks with BIG impact come in!

A shower, a tan (or not if you’re not a self tanner girly that’s ok too), a candle of your favorite scent, soft textures on the skin, music & movement, reading, water intake, eating (that’s a biggie) … all things that can easily be done each day in some capacity but we tend to neglect them first.

Here’s your sign to do something for YOU today. In whatever little pocket of time you can! Normally if I do any of this it’s after everyone’s in bed… a few hours of me time is worth a few less hours of sleep…
But you also deserve to take up some of the day!
Rest IS productive.
Taking care of you IS productive!
And you don’t have to do anything to EARN it 💋💋

OOTD 💙💚 little pops of color, some fun rolled sleeves, and a little creativity have been bringing me all the joy lately! I love these sparkle shoelaces, and thank GOD I found my go-to layered charm necklace, I was about to lose my mind lol !
But this purse gave me a run for my money today when I tried to accessorize it 🤣 if you watch the video all the way through you’ll have to tell me if I should keep the scarf, and if so , where?!

Everything doesn’t always work but that’s ok, the thing that matters is we have fun with it and we keep trying!

good jeans, a cozy thrifted pullover, done.

But this year I’m trying to be more intentional by letting my clothes really feel like an extension of me instead of just something I throw on. (Although I’m sure some days I won’t, and that’s ok too)

Little details matter. A pattern added in. A fun shoe. Pop of color or added touch that just feels like YOU.

Picking out your outfit can really be a form of self-care.
just choosing pieces that feel good and remind you who you are. Whatever sparks a little joy right?!

Because like I said, we deserve to be one of the people we love.

Starting the year out on the right foot … the right foot being an Ugg covered one that’s on the way to get a pedicure 🤣💙

I am determined to be more “myself” this year, and to find more joy in the little moments. So mixing patterns, dopamine dressing, or frankly just wearing whatever the hell I want, showing up here real & messy, romanizing little things like crafting a notebook for my to-do lists scrapbook style, and trying my best to stay above those mental health slumps , is what’s on the menu for 2026. We didn’t think we’d care this much about a camping chair… and yet here we are. 🤣

The GCI Outdoor Stowaway Rocker Chair has been such an easy win for camper life … comfortable, easy to get in and out of, and it folds down small enough to not take over the Jeep or camper storage.
We’ve been using it at the beach all week, but it’s definitely coming home with us for fires in the driveway, ball games, and all the random places we end up sitting for hours.
Also worth noting: nine color options and the camo felt like a safe life choice around here 😉

Cheetah + red just do something to my soul (like 🐆🫱🏼‍🫲🏽❤️ … they just get each other). I layered the tees (true size L in both) because apparently I’m into being warm and Mother Nature isn’t.
And yes, I’ve got leggings under this jumper because it’s December and I unfortunately do not live on a tropical island… yet. (But hey… here’s to manifesting it. 🥂🍹🙏🏼)

As someone with rosacea, and skin that tends to get a little angry & dry during winter, I have been loving both of these lately!!
Not only do they actually do what they say and hold my make up on all day, but the red rescue really helps my cheeks to even out before I start applying my make up, and the Dewey glaze primer helps hydrate my face a little bit so that I don’t look super dry and cakey!

We had a basketball tournament day followed by a little bowling & this ‘fit was the perfect thing for being comfy but still feeling cute!
(I’m not made for the cold! But a pop of color, a beanie, and some fun patterns definitely help)

This rodeo themed hoodie is so soft! a new pattern in my fave hoodies! It is a men’s, and I did the medium tall! I could literally live in this thing 24/7!

These barrel pants add a little flare with a fun shape and print! I did my true size large! (& the waist band has a little stretch even though they are true denim material!!🙌🏼)

Seasonal saddies haven’t gotten me yet so the seasonal sicklies have come full force in their place & are currently attacking our household.

One thing about me is I just feel so much better, in a happier mood, and more productive, if I get fully ready for the day! And trying something new just adds a little extra dopamine boost to that!
(That’s not always a possibility but today it was so I was clinging to that one ounce of “let’s do this” that I had)
