A few ways I make small bedrooms feel bigger:
1. Mirrors behind nightstands add light and depth ✨ Restoration Hardware uses this trick all the time and I love the look!
My mirror is 60” x 24”. I went a little larger since my nightstand is 30” wide. I could have all gone with a mirror that’s 30” wide. I’ve also linked a vanity mirror that can be hung vertically.

2. A cozy upholstered four poster bed creates a statement without overwhelming the space 🛌 The last hotel room we stayed in in Scotland did this and I fell in love with the warm, inviting feel.
My bed is a Queen size.

3. Hang drapes wide and high to make the ceilings feel taller and keep the window fully visible when open 🪟 Best trick I’ve learned from designers!
Window treatments are from @designs_by_tania. She’s amazing and local to SoCal if you’re looking for something custom.

4. And don’t forget a large piece of art or a gallery wall above the bed. It really opens up the space 🖼️ I always love a large visual piece to help set the mood.

Maggie kept slipping while eating on our floors so we purchased these silicone waterproof mats to help her stand still and it’s been a lifesaver. They come in several sizes which is nice depending on what you need for your dog. Maggie is standing on a 24” x 14“ size.

The raised dog bowl comes with a removable stainless steel bowl for easy clean up as well.

We use the raised bowl and the round 10” mat for water outside of her feeding times so it pulls double duty. The height helps her drink (and eat) so much easier. Especially because she has no teeth and it’s hard for her to pull water in.

Snoods help keep Maggie’s ears out of the way when she eats her food. They’ve become a lifesaver. I’d rather clean snoods daily than make her get her ears washed after every feeding. She’s normally between an extra small or a small and she’s 16 pounds. 🤍
