On one poster board I drew the wings with washable marker. I then cut the wings out with scissors- a box cutter would be even better but I couldn’t find ours and our design wasn’t too intricate. I poked holes where the elastic would go just to have that done and then maintained them as we used tissue paper and glue (easy to continue to poke thru). We cut out tissue paper into squares. Then we did a layer of plain modge podge and layered the squares onto the modge podge. We put a layer of sparkle modge podge on top of that. Let that dry for about 30 min and then repeated on the other side. After that we took our fairy lights and threaded them through the columns. We used 4 lights total- 2 on each wing. I made sure to start them through the bottom so the switches are all at the bottom and then we taped them up to the inside of the wings. Put about 4 or 5 columns between each. Then I thread the elastic through the small holes and knotted them. Ta-da! Homemade light up fairy wings 💙
