I honestly used to think motorized shades felt unnecessary. Until we had babies sharing our room 😂 + once we started using them, I realized how often we’re actually darkening the room throughout the day for naps, bedtime, lighting changes, etc. AND with our bed sitting directly in front of 3 windows, adjusting blinds and curtains isn’t exactly as simple as just reaching over and opening them 😅 Since having more kids and being on a “simple living” journey, I’ve learned to really value anything that simplifies our everyday routines in this season of life. You can even see in the “before” clip (at 14 sec) that our curtain rod had started bending in the middle from how often we were constantly pulling the curtains open & closed throughout the day 😅 Which honestly just proved to me how much wear and tear those little repeated tasks create over time. These motorized shades were gifted to us by @twopagescurtains for our room refresh, and they’ve genuinely become one of those “special” conveniences we use way more than I expected. If you’ve been considering shades too, they gave me a code BRANDY to save you a little money 🤍 I am of course all for a home that works alongside us instead of against us.
