Happy Thursday! With Halloween just around the corner, I wanted to share a few last minute costume ideas for you and your pet. I got the idea to shoot this fun Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf when Charlie Cupcake was still a tiny puppy.

This little munchkin may look like a stuffed animal, but he nearly ate me alive the first couple of months after we brought him home. When Mr. Cupcake joined our family he was 8 weeks old and weighed only 6 lbs. I used to joke that he looked like a teddy bear and bit like a wolf… that is when I wasn’t screaming “Charlie, don’t bite Mommy!” and going through boxes of Band-aids and Neosporin.

The weather is finally starting to get a little bit cooler here in Texas and I wanted to share this Fall transitional look I’ve been wearing lately. This ruffled, checked pattern top and navy linen shorts look is still cool enough to wear in our 80 degree Dallas weather and the color palette is a perfect transition to the cooler days ahead.

I shot these photos with @BeckleyCo in the Bishop Arts District a few weeks ago, which is an artsy little community outside of Downtown Dallas. Can you believe how much this looks like Main Street in Santa Monica?

My obsession with prairie dresses runs deep… it all started with my first professional job as an actress in a Civic Light Opera production of the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical Oklahoma! I was still a teenager and absolutely adored all of the beautiful prairie dresses and hair bows, that our costumer outfitted us in as we danced and sang our way across the stage. We had four costume changes for Laurie’s Dream Ballet alone (which made the changes even more complex than the choreography). Little did I know that a couple of decades later Prairie Dresses and cottagecore would be all the rage.

I’ve been living in this @shopdoen Prairie dress for the past few months as it goes so well with my new surroundings. These photos were taken just steps from my home, and I’ve been wearing this dress to take @mrcupcakedallasdood on his afternoon or early evening walk and for play/wine dates with our neighbors and their pups. It’s such an easy and comfortable look to throw on in a hurry and still look pulled together.

Happy Monday! I’m feeling ready to stroll through the European Countryside in this romantic dress with boater hat and booties look… but alas, travel is still restricted so I’ll have to settle for long strolls with @mrcupcakedallasdood in our new neighborhood. In between rain storms that is...

We’ve been experiencing what I would call a rainy season here in Dallas, which is such a big change coming from Los Angeles! I must say I am rather enjoying it and it makes everything so beautiful and green here. It is a challenge to schedule photo shoots though, and of course making sure Mr. Cupcake gets in a walk or two between storms. This photo shoot was my first with @beckleyco who I had wanted to shoot with for months, but had to reschedule three times because of rain. The weather was lovely on this late afternoon, but after we finished up, I made a stop @royalbluegrocerybigd 🛒. When I popped out 45 minutes later I was surprised to find myself in the middle of yet another storm ⛈! My car radio programming kept alerting me of impending tornados and Mister Pretty Little Shopper called to let me know it was hailing at our house and to drive safely on my way home!
