BUT…I’m itching to do something more in this space. I have been thinking about how exactly I want it to look and what I might want to add for some time now. Haven’t wanted to rush into anything. But I think I have narrowed it down!

✨WAYS TO UPDATE YOUR HOME: UNDER $100✨

Last week I shared my favorite ways to update a home for free and mentioned I was going to make it a series, so without further ado, let’s get to it! It’s pretty amazing with a small amount of money what you can do and make a big impact!

1) PAINT—okay, I can’t emphasize this enough, PAINT, PAINT, PAINT! A room, a wall, a door, trim, a piece of furniture, the options are endless! Whether you want moody or neutral, bright and bold, or light and airy paint can change the entire vibe of a space. And do everyone a favor and skip the internet. Just pick a color that brings joy (but samples are your friend 🙃)

2) PEEL AND STICK TILE: we used this in our laundry room and it’s still one of my favorite DIYs to date. It literally changes the look of the entire space and is relatively easy to complete! We’ve had ours two years now with zero issues. I’ve seen the backsplash tiles that also look amazing! It’s a great way to test out a look, too, before fully committing.

3) WAINSCOTING/MOULDING: a 4x8 panel of beadboard costs under $25 at Home Depot. We’ve used this in our laundry room and my younger son’s room. It’s a very beginner friendly DIY! Adding a chair rail or frame moulding can also be inexpensive depending how many walls you are completing and on the size of the room.

4) ARTWORK: I love to buy artwork on Etsy or my favorite @collectionprints! I oftentimes buy digital downloads to save on cost and you can have them printed so many places. I prefer to splurge a little more on larger pieces and prefer glicée prints! Thrift frames to save on money or sometimes HomeGoods has really awesome deals, too 🙌🏻

5) STEMS: Swapping out stems can be a fun way to add some color to a space. If you have a black thumb like me 🙃 there are so many faux stems look very realistic. It’s a great way to refresh a space each season, too!

I think we’ve lost the plot. You all KNOW that I love to decorate my home and do projects, but those things will never outweigh the people in it and all the memories our house holds. However your home looks, the size of it, how old or new it is, it really doesn’t matter. The people are what make it home 🫶🏻 So when you’re feeling unsatisfied or frustrated with where you want the state of things to be, don’t lose sight of the heart of it all. These stems, however 😍😍 so gorgeous! Love, love, love the color of these! Honestly I would use these year round. There wasn’t much shedding of the floral part with these, but with this type of stem it’s not uncommon. Think the quality is pretty good on these specific ones!

Okay, truth be told, I am really happy it’s September, BUT I am also not looking forward to those later ‘ber months at the moment 😬 I think those of us that live in colder climates LIVE for summer time and warmer months because 😮‍💨 those cold months are TOUGH. That being said, I LOVE the cozy feel of home in the fall and winter, so…at least there’s that 🙃

Grabbed these shoes a few weeks ago and have been loving them! SO cushy! Got them on sale. I will say, I prefer these for walking vs running. I personally like to be able to feel the ground a little more with my feet.

Wainscoting color is Van Deusen Blue by Benjamin Moore. My son picked it out and it is the prettiest shade! A bright, but deep blue that is the most calming color.

These are not my favorite—I prefer jeans that don’t have any stretch because they feel lower quality when they do. These definitely have some stretch, so if you’re into that then maybe these are for you! Definitely recommend sizing up. These are my true size and are not doing me any favors 🙃 but overall I like the cut of these loose jeans.

It has been so gloomy here all day, but we managed to squeeze some last minute family photos in with my in laws! Grabbed this dress, which was perfect because it was HOT (hence my hair already being pulled back since arriving home. 🙃 anyway, did not have time to get anything new so we used what we had (which honestly worked out great and I’m glad we didn’t)! This dress I’ve had for a couple of years and I love everything about it—the subtle pattern, the ruffle details, the hemline the bodice (yes I know I said that wrong 😑). So affordable and definitely something that can be used more than once!
