Dazzle Dry review 💅

It’s a great solution for anyone who doesn’t get good wear time with regular nail polish, but doesn’t want to do gel.

Application is a little longer and a little nuanced, but the dry time and longevity can be worth it!

I finally got my hands on one of these EDJY nail cutters and first impressions are really good! The cut is sooo clean, it’s a single blade, so it doesn’t crush your nails like traditional clippers, and it has a little receptacle to collect your clippings, which seems to work well!

The idea is that a cleaner cut means you won’t have to file down any jagged parts after clipping, and they say that the clean cut reduces peeling and splitting.

So far I’ve only done a few little cuts, I’m waiting for my nails to grow out a little more because I’ll be creating a UGC video for them, but my husband already fully loves it, he might have been even more excited than me to receive it 😄

How to fix overgrown “cuticles” 💅

- Proximal nail fold: The skin at the base of the nail, commonly referred to as your “cuticles. Your nail folds are protective barrier of living tissue that should not be cut. The dried/stretchy bits are keratinized skin that tends to grow more thickly after it’s been cut, as a defense mechanism. That’s why you get stuck in a vicious cycle of feeling like you need to keep cutting it. ❌

- Cuticle: The dead skin stuck to the nail plate (it shows up as the nail grows) ✅

⚠️ A common misconception is that cuticle remover is supposed to fix overgrown nail folds. It does not.

The best thing you can do to improve your nail folds is to gently nudge them back daily, and moisturize the skin. I like to use a nail oil and hand cream throughout the day, and then apply Aquaphor at night. Do this daily for a few months to see results. 🌱

Exception: Hangnails. It’s okay to safely clip those. 👌🏻

Why use cuticle remover on the nail plate? It helps create a nice smooth surface for nail polish to adhere to, so you get more wear time. 💅

Testing Sally Hansen’s new Miracle Gel formula. Made it to day 6 without chips, but now I have to take it off.

PSA: this is regular nail polish, not true gel. And I don’t love the top coats in this line. They take too long to fully set, so I’d use my Glisten & Glow top coat instead, but the polish itself held up well!

I swear by quick dry top coats, but if you don’t have one, then a drying product like this can be a great alternative. ✅

TBH, I was pretty impressed with how well it worked. I tested it with a regular, non quick drying top coat. I didn’t do a proper timed test or anything, but after looking back at the footage, I saw that I ran my fingers over my nails 10 minutes after applying my top coat and spraying them with the drying spray. And then there was also about 10 minutes between polishing all of my nails and then starting to top coat everything.

The general timeframe is basically the same result I get using the @glistenandglow1 quick-dry top coat, but again, if you are working with a regular top coat that takes a while to set, then this could be a good option.
