Pottery Barn dresser dupe!

Since swapping all our bedrooms around, I was on the hunt for a new tall dresser that would fit in this open corner of my bedroom. I found one in the most unlikely of places with beautiful wood grain & the perfect light oak driftwood color, and it looks very similar to the Pottery Barn Sausalito dresser... but $1600 less! Too good to be true?

I hit the order button and crossed my fingers that it would look just as good as it does online and not be a flimsy piece of junk...

And I'm BEYOND pleased to report back that it's sturdy, well-built, the exact color/texture I was hoping for, and just $276!

I hung some linen pinch pleat cafe curtains in my kitchen, and it added the perfect amount of privacy and softness and texture to the space.

Kitchens are full of hard surfaces, from the counters and backsplash to flooring and cabinets. There isn’t a lot of opportunity to bring in any soft or warm elements, so things like curtains, rugs, upholstered chairs/barstools, or even just pretty kitchen towels can make a big difference.

These pinch pleat curtains are the perfect natural linen color and were so easy to install — I’m just in love with the petite little rods I found (so affordable too 🙌🏻).

I’m slowly and intentionally working on my new master bedroom – taking my time to make decisions and choose things that feel most like me. You all know I love a creamy white wall, but it’s the balance of other materials and textures that create DEPTH + INTEREST in a room. One of my favorite purchases for this space so far has been a rug I’ve had in my cart literally forever. We all have a home bucket list, right? While I was deep cleaning the house before Christmas, I noticed how dirty and dingy our light beige sofa was starting to look (it's about 2 ½ years old). I've done some spot cleaning, but it just really felt like the entire thing needed a bath...
Well, I discovered that the cushions DO have zippers, which makes them removable, and I really feel like they wouldn't add a zipper if they weren't meant to be removed and thrown in the washing machine... right??

I found this hat organizer for my closet that can be mounted on the wall or under a shelf like I’m doing here, and I love how little space it takes up. It was super easy to install!

I really wanted to maximize every inch of space in this closet, while still staying on a budget. I painted the existing shelving boards that sit over the hanging clothes and added an inexpensive fabric drawer dresser underneath for socks, bathing suits, intimates, etc. For shoe storage, I decided to utilize that back wall and went vertical… VERY vertical. What can I say, a girl likes her shoes 🤷🏼‍♀️

This shoe rack is over 7ft tall and comes in black, bronze, gray, and gold. I intentionally didn’t install 3 of the shelves towards the top so could store taller boots, but this big guy holds 48-60 pairs of shoes fully loaded. They also have smaller versions if you don’t have as much vertical space, but what I really like about this one is the shelves are a very small metal grid vs. typical straight wire shelves with larger gaps that heels will fall through — not that I even own that many fancy shoes, but still. I’m just a simple sneaker and boots kind of gal.

It took a lot of measuring and reconfiguring to get this massive shoe rack to fit, but I’m so happy with how it all turned out.

You're never going to believe what I just paid for this MASSIVE 20" tall gorgeous textured soft matte black vase — let's just say l've paid more than double for vases half this size.

I thought it had to be a mistake, so I immediately added to my cart and checked out, and it's even more beautiful (and heavy) in person. I double and triple checked, and it's still available and on sale right now!!

I'm still figuring out where exactly I want to put it, but it's perfect for long greenery stems. I'll let you in on a little design secret l've been focusing on lately — it's simple in theory, but I think we often overlook the impact that size and scale can have in a space. If you look at high end design, you'll often see large scale objects and a "less is more" aesthetic. Letting the beauty of one really special piece take center stage in a room vs. filling a room with so much stuff and noise that your eye can't even focus on anything. It feels purposeful and chic, yet effortless and relaxed. This is just my personal preference and something l've really been leaning into lately.

What you REALLY should be focusing on is editing everything back, choosing only your favorite pieces to display, and finding the right scale to fit your space.

I liked the look of this black pitcher on top of a storage cabinet in my office, but the size is definitely too small to stand on its own. I found a stunning vase on Amazon and couldn’t believe the price. It’s exactly what I was looking for and fills the space perfectly.
