I have been on the hunt for the perfect matching loungewear set… I wanted it to feel more elevated than sweatpants, but also not a typical leggings/top look.

A lesson on print mixing and transforming a straight cut shirt dress when you have curves.

This @chanelofficial dress has so many things going for it… The print, the sleeve… but it is cut too straight for my shape. Luckily it has a two-way zipper, so I am able to wear pants underneath and unzip up to my waist line to open up the skirt. I do this a lot with dresses too. Unbutton them up to the waist and pair them with pants. It’s unexpected and can give you a new way to wear it. This dress has a matching belt, but I wanted to set it off with a mixed print. So, I paired it with a snakeskin print belt from @rebeccaminkoff and an old platform shoe from @naturalizer. A pop of whimsy with a fun box bag I found in my travels, and I’m off to my event!

Mob Wife Aesthetic: The Series

Tune in this week for a new style up series!

Expect lots of leopard print, leather, black monochromatic looks, faux fur, gold jewelry, and the opposite of quiet luxury!

This week’s look is all black… with a mix of lace, faux leather, suede, and faux fur… The different textures play with light and shadow, and create more dimension to the look.

The mob wife aesthetic is not quite luxury—it is “smack you upside the head” luxury, so layer all of your big baubles, chains, and chunky bracelets. More is more for this vibe.

And don’t forget the oversized sunglasses and statement bag.

More elevated athleisure looks with joggers!

To finish out this week’s Style Up Series, it’s the same pair of joggers four more ways!

I featured these joggers two posts earlier this week, but felt like I owed you a few more looks!

Pair with a heeled ankle boot with a pearl detail and a chunky sweater… I layered the sweater over a fitted long sleeve tee, so that I could tuck the hem of the sweater up into the tee to create more of a cropped look. Add a great statement bag, and you’re done!

Keep the striped tee and add a houndstooth tweed jacket for a print mix, and top with a wool fedora.

Layer a short sleeve denim shirt dress unbuttoned to create a jacket look.

Ditch the boots for some sneakers and add an oversized blazer and a fun metallic Crossbody.

Or try a different print mix with a floral blazer.

Continuing this week’s Sunday Style Up theme, here’s another way to level up the same pair of joggers!

Today’s look is “from Pilates to Prosecco“— with the same joggers and a long line sports bra, I’ve added my favorite wrap, cinched it with a studded belt, added a black ankle boot and a faux leather jacket, popped on a chunky earring—and ditched the gym bag for a statement bag.

And with just a few pieces… a look that can go from the gym to cocktails in five minutes!

Want to know what I’m buying in January? The holidays may be over, but there’s still plenty of time to wear some party clothes, and to add some new pieces that will bring some punch to your wardrobe!

What should you buy in the January sales?

Tuxedo separates— I absolutely love having different tuxedo separates on hand for a last-minute cocktail party look, fundraiser or gala outfit, and a wedding guest outfit that’s a bit more unexpected. You can also split them up and wear the blazer with jeans or the pants with a great sweater… Or rock them together with a graphic tee underneath and sneakers for a more casual streetwear look.

Velvets and sequins—pair them with a graphic tee or a denim shirt, or wear the blazer with jeans for everyday looks.

Metallics— grab those metallic accessories now to add a bunch of party to an every day look.

Coats— now is the time to level up your coat game! Get faux furs and leathers, shearlings, wools and puffers now!

Sunday Style Up: 5 ways to style a denim jacket

Feeling a little basic in your denim jacket?
Here are five different ways to style your jean jacket!

•The denim “shacket”— this heavier weight denim shirt/jacket can be layered over a hoodie and track pants or joggers to add some edge to your athleisure look.

•Dress down your party pants and skirts by pairing them with denim. You can wear this for evening with a fun pair of heels, or make them even more casual with a platform Oxford or sneaker.

•Denim on denim— this look may not be for everyone, but if you mix up some of your washes, it can be a fun way to wear denim.

•Play with washes and proportions—try an slimmer cut pant or pencil skirt with an oversized jacket or a fitted denim jacket with a wide leg pant (or even a ballgown skirt) on the bottom.

•Wear an oversized denim jacket over your shoulders with a sleeveless or a strapless summer dress on days when you feel like you want a little more coverage.

•And don’t sleep on your accessories! Now is the time to ditch that classic bag you carry all week for work and trade them for a ball cap and a metallic bag.
