Changing one word can change a whole perspective. 🤯

Saying “I get to” can help us view life with more gratitude and appreciate what we have.

We are all stronger than we think - both physically and mentally. And we never know our capabilities until we are challenged.

This applies to many areas of our life: with our health, our jobs, our relationships, etc.

After all, not everyone is physically able to do the things you can do — and not everyone lives long enough to get a chance to try.

Saying “I get to” as I approach 45 this year has inspired me to try new things, challenge myself and my abilities.

For me, it’s been a better understanding that aging is a priveledge; realizing I’ll soon be 10 years older than my Dad, Dan, was when he died at 35.

And by thinking of all that Dan didn’t ‘get to’ do, I keep in mind all I am capable and able to do. And it makes me not want to waste any time I’m given.

It means being grateful to be healthy enough to work out - and push yourself to become stronger.

It means appreciating opportunities that sometimes scare you or make your stomach flip - or are hard work. And then being so proud when you see what you accomplished — or at least tried.

It means showing others that you are never too old to try and learn new things. And to live life with more purpose and urgency.

Now, when I ‘get to’ do things, yes - I do it for me — and for my husband and kids. But I also do it for Dan.❤️

I hope this challenges your perspective of all that you ‘get to’ do and motivates you to challenge yourself to make the most of your time. 🫶
