Exploring Pinckney Island National Wildlife Refuge was easily one of the best things to do in Hilton Head and such a hidden gem for nature lovers 🌿✨ We didn’t come fully prepared (rookie mistake 😂), but if you’re planning to visit, definitely bring water and plan ahead—there are no bathrooms or drinkable water on the island. Trust me, you’ll want to stay awhile because you can hike and bike for miles through some of the most peaceful, scenic trails! Even though we cut our time short, we still made it to the butterfly garden and Ibis Pond—and WOW 😍 watching dozens of ibis birds flying over the water was unreal. We even spotted an armadillo up close, which made the whole experience feel extra wild and unforgettable! If you’re visiting Hilton Head Island and want a break from the beach (especially on a chilly day), this is such a peaceful outdoor adventure to add to your itinerary. I’m working on a full Hilton Head travel guide + blog post with all the best things to do, and this spot is 100% on the list—stay tuned 👀 Have you ever explored Pinckney Island?!
