Okay, this lighting hack changed the game for me!

Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with can lights, but I wanted something that served the same purpose while simultaneously blending in with the timeless aesthetic of the rest of the home!

My ONLY problem now is in the kitchen. As you can see in the video, there’s 6 can lights in a row and I do think that 6 of these lined up right next to each other miiiiight be a bit much and visually busy. Should I have our contractor close the holes for all the can lights in the kitchen and just install 2-3 pendant above the island instead? Do you think I’ll regret removing such a bright light source down the road? HELP A GIRL OUT.

My dream fireplace just in time for cozy season 🍂🔥

I’m sure it sounds silly to a lot of you, but this is a such a “pinch me” moment for me. Fireplaces weren’t super common growing up in Vegas, and if you happened to have one, it was way more utilitarian than something that deserved to be the focal point of a room. Then somehow, during the 2 1/2 years we lived in Nashville, Brian and I rented (what I’m assuming is) the only house in Nashville that DIDN’T have a fireplace. So we did our best and built a frame for the most realistic faux fireplace I could find. I was super thankful for what we were able to make happen.

From the moment we moved into this house last year, I knew I was going to make my little 13-year-old-Pinterest-scrolling-self’s dreams come true 🥹 And today, we put the final pieces in place immediately after our tile guy finished grouting. I’ve been staring at it ever since lol.

Our new coffee table! ☕️

As you can probably tell, the space called for a longer coffee table (and it was much needed lol). I knew I wanted something longer to give us more tabletop space, but using the keyword “coffee table” usually resulted in a lot of wider options and if it was thin, it wasn’t the style I was looking for.

Enter: dining benches. A whole new world opened up when I widened my search to benches since they’re naturally made thinner (compared to a standard coffee table).

Anyways, that’s it! Just wanted to share in case anyone else is looking for a narrow coffee table option! Give benches a try! 🫶🏼
