I’ve had this dress since March and I’ve been waiting for the perfect occasion to wear it-and it was perfect for Mother’s Day brunch! It has an a-line shape so it’s not too clingy (roomy enough to fully enjoy a buffet brunch). Paired it with my favorite pumps and a lightweight cardigan because holy air conditioning! I spent Saturday in The Woodlands and while my boys were enjoying the LIV tournament, I went to lunch with my friend Sara (@hauteandhumid). I knew it was going to be hot and humid weather wise as well, so I packed my breezy gauze midi dress and dressed it up with a narrow adjustable belt. Note-I took it straight out of the suitcase and didn’t have to steam it! While the weather was steamy outside, inside it was like a meat locker, so I brought along my new favorite crochet style cardigan too! I know we all go crazy for pockets on a dress, but because this one doesn’t have them, it’s actually easier to add a belt exactly where you want it (and less bulk on the hips)! Headed out to the Houston area this weekend to celebrate…well lots of things. This is what I wore for the 3+ hour road trip (Houston traffic is INSANE). It was comfortable, cool, and transitioned straight to dinner with the family that night. Wearing a size small in the dress.
I know I get questions about what’s in all the bags, so here you go: all my clothes, shoes and toiletries in the carry on suitcase, my computer, work stuff and cosmetics in the duffel, and normal purse stuff in my purse plus my mini iPad and road snacks. #walmartpartner Our Weimaraner, Rowdy, recently had some benign growths removed and we were told we have to keep him inside and fairly calm until the stitches are removed. If you’ve ever wondered why my tag line is “Real Outfits for Real Women”, it’s because of outfits like this one. I want to share what “normal” women are wearing in everyday situations, in this case, running out the door to get a pedicure because I suddenly found a window of free time to get it done. I have to say a sports/tennis skirt is the way to go because the built in shorts offer modesty and coverage on the pedicure chair! I sized up one on the top because it’s meant to be really tight and I wanted a looser fit. Wearing my regular size in the skirt. The sandals run TTS and also come in a light tan that’s the perfect go with everything shade. Sometimes the outfits I share are a little bit elevated, sometimes they’re just throw it on and go!
