And here we are 💕. The girls have officially settled into their shared bedroom together and they love it. There were tears in the beginning, it was a hard transition. Both girls felt displaced and like we were taking something so valuable from them. But once I pieced together my vision for them and brought it all to life, that all changed. They now find comfort in being together and love their new bedding, sconces and bunk 🩷.

One thing I don’t talk about often is how I used to work at Nordstrom. I worked there about 15 years ago and loved my job so much. My favorite part was putting outfits together for family photos and events for each person in the family. I loved coordinating colors, as well as finding new and styles to complete each look. Reminiscing on when we put together my daughter’s big girl bedroom. I was 8 months pregnant when we completed it. The petal headboard is absolutely the focal point of the room, tying it all together with other rattan pieces such as her nightstands, wall decor and more.

This bedroom is soon going to be transformed yet, once again pretty soon to make room for the new baby we’ll be welcoming in February. This bedroom will accommodate both of my daughters and will include a bunk bed. Lots of shifts are going to be happening here soon. Are you hesitant about installing wallpaper yourself? I was too, but I gave it a try and it turned out really well! It's not perfect, but it's great. Despite a few imperfections, I'd definitely do it again for a low-traffic area, like my kids' bedroom. For high-traffic areas, though, I'd definitely hire a professional. The nursery for my boy ended up being special and meaningful without going overboard on the sailor or whale theme.
