I found a set of vintage Santa mugs and a punch bowl yesterday for a steal so I’ll be working on that today. I’ll share a sneak peak in stories later. The house has been decorated for a month now and I have enjoyed every minute decorating and enjoying the glow at night. I just need this month to slow down so I can enjoy it a little longer!

Amelia is 10 today!! What a bittersweet time it is, seeing my youngest grow up so fast. She hasn’t shown her face as much here lately, as she’s been busy living her best life!
I found this pink vintage Santa mug and punch bowl set a couple of weeks ago knowing I wanted to incorporate it in her birthday decor. Since we had her party last weekend and our kitchen is too small to display it, I decided to create a centerpiece with it and I love how it turned out!

Without a mantle this year, I had to get creative with our stockings! I had a vision for what I wanted and shared that with my husband. Twenty minutes later he came back with a branch and I got to work!
I wrapped twine around one end of the stick secured it with hot glue and left enough twine so I could hang it, I added the stockings and then secured the other end with twine, I hung it on the wall, added ribbon to hide the twine and then decorated it with garland and bells. I really love how it turned out!

I have always loved winter and when it gets dark early. It has always been a time that I felt happy and comfortable, even when I was little. The only light would be the glow from the Christmas tree and the tv as my sister and I watched Christmas movies. I love that I get to do that with my kids now. It’s such a cozy time of year.

Our outdoor space just got a lot warmer and cozier with this beautiful gas fire pit set from @upha.patio

Sweet old Mabel napped on the couch while I decorated this side of the room on Friday. I finished decorating this weekend but I’m sure I’ll move things around here and there. I took it back to my elementary years and wrapped my decor books in wrapping paper to look like gifts! Everything else in the space I already had on hand except for the gold and white candles.

When the butternut squash soup is to die for!
It’s vegan and GF but has so many yummy flavors and the chili oil made it! I couldn’t get enough! Here’s the recipe

•1 small to medium-sized Butternut Squash •7 fl oz Coconut Milk •1 Red Onion •2 Carrots •1 Bell Pepper •2 heads of Garlic •1 cup of Cherry Tomatoes •1 1/2 cups Vegetable Broth •Olive Oil enough to drizzle over vegetables
Seasoning:
•1 tsp Black Pepper •1 tsp Ground Cumin •1 tsp Paprika •1 tsp Dried Thyme •1 tsp Dried Rosemary •1 tsp Chili Oil

Instructions:
Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 390°F  Prepare the Vegetables: You can either peel and chop the butternut squash, or simply cut the squash in half for roasting. Season the Vegetables: Add the seasonings to the vegetables. Drizzle with olive oil and toss to coat evenly. If halving the squash, drizzle olive oil on the exposed flesh. Cover the dish with aluminum foil. Roasting: Roast for about 1 1/2 hours, or until the vegetables are golden and soft inside. If you’ve chopped the vegetables smaller, the roasting time can be reduced. If you’ve halved the butternut squash, expect a longer roasting time. For the last 10 minutes, remove the aluminum foil to allow the vegetables to caramelize slightly. Blending: Once roasted, scoop out the flesh of the butternut squash (if halved) and transfer all the vegetables to a blender.
Cooking the Soup: Pour the blended mixture into a pot and place it on medium heat. Stir in the coconut milk and cook for about 2 minutes, allowing everything to warm through.
Garnish with a drizzle of coconut milk, or chili oil

It rained most of yesterday so we spent the day cooking and baking. These donuts are the perfect Fall treat!
Vegan & GF Apple Cider Donut
Ingredients
1.5 cups apple cider •2 cups gf flour • 1 tsp baking powder • .75 tsp baking soda • 1.5 tsp ground cinnamon • .5 tsp nutmeg • .5 tsp sea salt • 2 tbsp vegan butter, melted • 1 flax seed egg • .5 cup sugar • .5 cup packed brown sugar • .5 cup cashew milk • 1 tsp vanilla
Topping 1 cup sugar • 1.5 tsp cinnamon • .5 tsp nutmeg • 6 tbsp Oatmilk butter, melted

Instructions
•Place the apple cider in a saucepan and bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce the heat to medium and let the apple cider continue to cook until it reduces down to 1/2 cup. This could take 15-30 minutes.

•While you are reducing the apple cider, you can measure out the cashew milk to bring it to room temperature as well as the flax seed egg, then melt the 2 tablespoons of butter and let it cool.

•Preheat the oven to 350°.

•Whisk together the gf flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a large bowl.

•Whisk the egg, melted butter, brown sugar, white sugar, cashew milk and vanilla in a small bowl.

•Pour the wet mixture and the reduced apple cider into the dry ingredients and mix until combined.

•Next, take a gallon-sized zip-top baggie and fill with the batter. Cut a little corner off the bottom of the bag. Use the baggie to pipe the batter into the donut pan.

•Bake for 11-13 minutes. The donuts should be golden brown and bounce back after tapping your finger on top of the donut. Let the donuts sit in the muffin pan for 2 minutes, and then remove the donuts to a wire rack.

•Coat the donuts: Melt the 6 tablespoons of butter in a small pan. And in a shallow bowl, mix together the sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

•Once the donuts are cool enough to hold, dip both sides of the donuts into the butter. Then, dip both sides of the donuts into the sugar mixture. Place the donuts on a wire rack to cool.
