This ProjectMeadowbrook living room was one of my very first projects back in 2019 (when PHI was in its infancy). It is a study in layers—creamy upholstery, textured pillows, and warm wood accents. The vintage-inspired rug grounds the space and adds just enough pattern to keep things interesting, while the neutral palette keeps it timeless. But what really makes this room special is how it works double duty, but in a way that is practical and pretty. If you saw the before, you know this space was used by the previous owners as a catch-all “office”—utilitarian desks, bulky chairs, and way too many wires. It wasn’t cozy, cohesive, or particularly inviting, especially for a room right by the front door. By reimagining the layout and softening the materials, we transformed it into an elegant living room with a small office nook that feels completely at home in the design. Now, the shelves display art, books, and a few collected pieces that make the space feel personal and curated, not “workspace first.” It’s proof that you can absolutely have function and beauty… and that your office doesn’t need to look like, well, an office.
