This colorful traditional entryway sets the tone for the whole home—this space had all the right bones: a dramatic curved staircase, intricate railing, beautiful French doors, and meaningful family pieces. What it needed was life, color, and a sense of personality to match the rest of the home. For this equestrian-inspired traditional home, we wanted to create an entry that felt personal and pulled together, but not overly formal. It’s the kind of space that says “come on in” without trying too hard. For Project Eclectic Traditional or also called Project Equestrian Traditional, we transformed a dated entry into a colorful traditional entryway filled with pattern and personality by layering bold wallpaper, fresh paint, a tailored stair runner, and heirloom furnishings that already meant something to the family. The goal wasn’t to erase the traditional character of the home—it was to wake it up. The new palette of peach, blue, green, gold, and deep brown feels classic but not quiet. The staircase now feels intentional and polished, the heirloom secretary and artwork have room to shine, and each corner of the entry has its own collected moment. It’s traditional with a little wink—which, frankly, is my favorite kind of traditional. LTKHome
