This front living room from ProjectMeadowbrook had one big request: it needed to be both beautiful and incredibly functional. Our client wanted a space to relax and gather with guests—but also a quiet spot where the kids could do homework or an adult could take a Zoom call in peace. No small task, right? To make it work, we carved out a workspace by the front window with a slim desk and comfy chair that blend seamlessly into the rest of the room. We layered in high-performance fabrics, a durable rug, and plenty of seating for hosting friends and family. Every detail was chosen to look elevated, but liveable. If you’re struggling with a space that needs to serve multiple functions, here’s your reminder: you don’t have to sacrifice style for practicality. Think dual-purpose furniture, unexpected layout tweaks, and mixing closed + open storage. A little creativity goes a long way!
